@gsmarena Great review. One question: does this phone allow HDMI out, and if so, is it a standard cable or use of a proprietary docking station? RMs website says it's HDMI compatible, and I recall a preview video a few months ago, showing it connected to a TV with "no lag". It was never mentioned how this screen share was accomplished. Thanks for the help.

How many of these comments are Xiaomi agents trying to deter consumers from buying the Red Magic 5G?

What happened with many generations continued with this one. Meizu and ZTE, they make excellent phones and then abandon them and drop all support faster then gravity could handle.
They had such a fine opportunity this time. Hell, there wasn't even the competition. I'm fine with underwhelming camera experience, but botched software and grim prospects of correcting the same in the future, is a definite deal-breaker.
That's one reason I guess RoG phone's are expensive. And I'm sure if Nubia promised something like that, a stable software support and raised the prices 50$ for it, and kept that promise. RoG phones will have real trouble.
Aside from that, lack of accessories review too, undermined it. Maybe the team will update the review when (or if) they get their hands on it.

It's ashame about the software comments, will continue looking for a full screen phone :(

It's not a con for this device that developers are not yet making games to reach the screen's 144hz performance.

Whackcar, 03 Apr 2020Nubia 5G 4500mAh 144hz = 83h Nubia 5G 4500mAh 60hz = 102h ... moreHow? If anything it's a testament to Samsung's better optimization, as the S20+ loses a much smaller percentage of battery while delivering almost equal smoothness (let's face it, 144Hz isn't that different to 120Hz). Oh, and don't forget that Gsmarena reviewed the Exynos version, the S20+ on SD865 is even better in terms of battery life and efficiency. So, your point is a little off.

Dunno 'bout you guys, but the sample images are actually pretty damn good in both daylight and low light situations.
Why are you having your expectations set to very high? It's called a "gaming phone" for a reason, so let's get our hopes prepared relatively to the claim-to-fame that the phone has.
Most of the problems in the camera are software-related, so installing GCAM should be able to bring out the best out of its hardware.

Don't rely on this brand you won't get any software updates.
I'm currently using Nubia Redmagic 3 and its full of glitch.
The Trigger button will start to glitch and there is no permanent fix. Its been 6 months and not a single update came from Nubia side to fix the issue.
The phone is a gaming phone but unfortunately you won't be able to use the gaming mode coz above the above glitch.
So please do a proper research before buying this brand else you will regret later.
From a Nubia user.
