123, 16 Apr 2020I am after LG V60 or Xperia 1 II, they kept the 3.5mm jack.... moreI feel you. A decreasing number of people does, though :( GSMA, it seems, has *finally* settled in the last couple months. Kind of like OnePlus did once they threw away what you're talking about (back in high, a classmate had a 6 and I for sure underappreciated it back then), at higher price tags than ever before.
This particular ringer ain't on my radar tbh. When the Smartisan M1 kicks the bucket, I'll probably be looking into a 5 Pro from this lineup. Could get a new-old-stock (by then) device too, but they're vanishing daily, not to mention phone batteries don't have that spectacular of a shelf life.

But I agree, there are many cuts on this device.
Even low ends from other brands have usb c 2.0

From review "Realme has once again shown us how a no-compromise phone can be made without cutting any (obvious) corners."
Erm... No headphone jack, no ip68, no micro SD, no wireless charging. Any removed features ARE cut corners

I've resized photo to 8MP.
It helps a bit, but too disappointing for a 2020 phone.
Mine from 2015 can do better.

Too bad this phone isn't coming to the USA. It looks amazing. Screen is perfect size, not too large. Good battery size. 90 hz OLED. If it had 5G bands that worked here I'd import it

L973, 16 Apr 2020Probably asked multiple times before but where did the ext.... moreI am after LG V60 or Xperia 1 II, they kept the 3.5mm jack. If someone want real sound with earphones and safe for your health, you need 3.5mm jack. Full stop. Everything wireless is bad for health. And wired is better sound always.

It still says on their website, that the phone is coming in April. We are halfway through the month and still nothing. Disappointing, as I prefer this one to the red magic 5g, but might have to settle with that.

LilPhone, 16 Apr 2020If the 4G version is still retained while costing not much ... moreWhat's the "the 4g" version you are talking about? There's no such thing. It is physically impossible to have a phone with Snapdragon 865 that doesn't have 5G, because Snap 865 requires the external 5G modem it was designed to co-work with from the start.
You could probably disable 5G connection via software, but why would you do that when you need to have Snap 865 and the 5G modem in the first place, no matter what? OR they could make a "5G version" by putting a Snap 855+ on the phone but again, there are no plans for that and it's not going to happen (sadly, as I'd love such a version myself)

a 2019 camera sensor, that too Sam manufactured, where competition has gone to 108MP, with sony sensors.
OIS is must at this price point, deal breaker it is.
Realme battery is below average looking at 2020 endurance expectations.
No need for 4 camera, better give 2 good performing camera for day and night.
Screen is not getting that bright in outdoors, others giving out over 800 nits in max auto, color shift normal issue in realme phones.
So lot of things calling for a price cut. Hope some markets will get 4G version only for now as 5G launch is far away.

Probably asked multiple times before but where did the ext.audio test go? :(
I guess, in the same direction as 3.5 jacks in Realme flagships... the way of the dodo.
Even so, not all phones that output audio exclusively through USB-C require active adapters (do they?), meaning there could still be a difference in audio quality with the exact same dongle on different phones. Something to keep in mind, unless this info is false.
Also, Anandtech published a firmware analysis of a couple Realmes back on the 8th, which spread among a couple other news venues. There seems to be a benchmark-only "turbo" mechanism implemented (again... sigh), and while exclusive to Mediatek devices and apparently independent of the vendors (unless they turn it off), newer Realme devices seem to all have a high perf. mode, even Snapdragons. It's just that they don't engage it behind the user's back. For now.
Your comment on this would be very appreciated. Maybe some revisions in performance testing or the "Software" section. Shady stuff imho.

5G variants have no sense in countries where 5G will be hardly implemented within 3 yrs time... if this is 4G this will be cheaper and better for the price.

The only minus for me will be OIS on main camera and the lack of 4K 60 fps recording, surely SD 865 is capable of that. Otherwise, a really good phone but I hope Realme will sell this in a lot countries.

Would you rather recommend the x2 Pro or the x50 Pro- especially if 5G Is not important?
Thanks!
Btw, as always the best review in the whole web!

If the 4G version is still retained while costing not much more than the X2 Pro (especially in SE Asia), this phone will be a huge success like the X2 Pro was.
