Tann Hauser, 03 Jun 2020Thats your personal choice. I on the other hand cant help... more-Find X2 pro already has front facing speakers.
-500 plus ppi is enough on sub 7 inch devices. Anything more is battery draining.
Sony themselves said they hardly offer 20% better audio over USB type C earphones.
-CinemaPro and photoPro are nothing but manual modes.
-Oppo is pioneer in fast charging technology. It's battery care on steroids.
-Don't need inferior HS which freezes battery percentage to prevent heating as Oppo phones can game while charging without unnecessary heating. As I said it's pioneer in charging tech. Sony simply behind the curve.

But Find X2 pro has plenty of features HW and software wise that Xperia 1 II lacks which I won't bother listing since list is too long.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2020which 1000 euro flagship has no qi charging these days?Oppo Find X2 bro. Lol

Tann Hauser, 03 Jun 2020Thats your personal choice. I on the other hand cant help... moreYep, each to their own. If you and others feel those features are satisfactory for the phone, I can respect that. Personally, those the lack of features I mentioned would probably be more significant for me (and I'm sure many others). If a brand like Sony had implemented those features instead of something like Cinema Pro (how often will people actually use this feature?), it would probably appeal to a more bigger audience.

      Again, each to their own.

Dometalican, 03 Jun 2020Uh...no... there are already enough stupid bezel-less phone... moreThe lack of decent facial recognition shouldn't really bear any significance on having a decent bezel less display. Hardware issues combined with software glitches should something a manufacturer could resolve going forward with new models. A company like Sony is more than capable of giving us a near bezel less phone with excellent facial recognition features.

Nick.B, 03 Jun 2020agree. only not for the 1080p. 1440p is okey. 1080 not. had... moreAgain it also depends on how well the panel is made, what content you are watching, and how closely you look at the phone. Anywhere above 300dpi on a quality LED panel (whether it's Amoled, Super Amoled, P-Oled) and not bringing it so close to my face, and can you a sharp image. I have had 2 phones with a QHD panel, my current one only maxes up to 1080p, and you have to look deeply to find any display sacrifices. Obviously the QHD will look that tad sharper, but side by side both look as good as each other when viewing content from a normal length.

but higher than 1080p is okey

ALonZo, 03 Jun 2020Sony is a fantastic brand in general. I still have a Sony T... moreUh...no... there are already enough stupid bezel-less phones out there for you to choose from that lack solid facial recognition hardware, proper front facing stereo speakers, and lack uniqueness this year.

Sony, I believe, did great only they should have put in at least a 4,500 mAH battery, ATTEMPTED 90Hz refresh rate (it even has a gaming mode), and lowered the price (at least for the US since we can't even use its 5G bands here) by $150. Maybe THEN, with the pre-order bonus, it'd be worth it.

Smithravi, 03 Jun 2020You need to go to an eye doctor then. Thanks for your suggestion, but my eyes are perfectly fine. At a very close distance I can notice the difference in text sharpness between P30 and my S10, but that's not how I use my phones. Thankfully I'm not overly sensitive to stuffs like that and don't freak out just by looking at a FHD display.

I on the other hand cant help thinking that the device you prefer here, could have been better if it had higher ppi screen, front facing stereo speakers, DSEE ultimate for hi res streaming sound quality, 3D reality audio feature, 20 fps AE/AF, PhotoPro and CinemaPro app, BatteryCare feature, HS control, etc...

Thats all there is to it.

ALonZo, 03 Jun 2020Sony is a fantastic brand in general. I still have a Sony T... moreTrue but Sony fans simply can't hear constructive criticism of their favorite brand.

Tann Hauser, 03 Jun 2020Oh, I sincerely think overall the competition is not better... moreSony is a fantastic brand in general. I still have a Sony TV in a bedroom after 12 years and it's still going strong. So no one should bash the phone just because of the Sony branding.

The phone is quality, there is no denying that. But at the price you are paying, you can't help but feel Sony could have done things a little better, considering they are a massive name and wanting the best for their consumers. If they had managed to ditch the forehead and chin, so it was near bezel less, squeezed in a higher refresh rate (even 90hz would have been a start), faster charging, then you'd have so many more excited buyers. I feel a phone like the Oppo Find X2 Pro has packed in so much (bar the wireless charging), that I'd be happy to buy that instead of this phone.

ALonZo, 03 Jun 2020Ok, let's start off with the display. 4k really is an overk... moreOh, I sincerely think overall the competition is not better for that price this year.

Sony may have a feature or two missing on this device, but then again this phone has features missing on those other devices too.

So it definitly stands up to any and all competition, and who will choose what for that high price is entirely up to subjective preferences.

IMO this is the best over 1000 buck device this year. Some think otherwise, but thats ok. Problem is, some who think that way, just come to bash out just because Sony is written on the back of it.

PotatoHead, 03 Jun 2020Burn ins also depend a lot on the way you use the phone. If... moreBtw I have 5 year old Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE but I don't use it all day. And always on low brightness. I have zero issues and zero screen burn as you know this tablet has amoled :)

Finally Sony outclassed every other phone cameras for even next year's model.
Since every phone uses IMX camera, and when used in their own phone, it lacks.
Finally professional editing and features taken from Sony camera.

ALonZo, 03 Jun 2020I have had QHD phones and have stepped back to a 1080p devi... moredon't compare oled and ips resolutions.
With OLED they usually count an RG or BG duplet for a pixel, while IPS has an RGB triplet for a pixel.

OLED QHD is a tad better than IPS FHD, and OLED 4k is slightly less crispy than IPS QHD.

OLED FHD is usually between IPS HD and FHD; P30 is a good example of a completely bizarre low grade display on a flagship.
