It's not a huge deal with phones with a lot of internal storage, but taking the XZ1 Compact as an example, it had 32GB internal storage. Even though adoptable storage was added in Android 6, it wasn't enabled by Sony on that device so for apps at least, you're limited to the roughly 27GB usable internal storage. When there are micro SD cards optimized for random IO and for saving 4K video to directly, it would be nice for the review to mention what the device can do with them.

Also it would be great if the specifications page listed the usable internal storage for a fresh device.

    So much negativity, calling out names and fighting in the comments.
    Besides, the review is half baked, for instance "only 720p on amazon prime" yeah as if it's Xperia fault and other phones are able to render amazon prime in qhd, and more such instances.
    So, @GSMArena probably you guys should be more clear next time. Also I wonder when you included camera comparison in xiaomi Mi 10 pro review, so why not here? Half baked, huh?

      That would be applicable to Samsung, Apple, Google, OnePlus, Oppo, RealMe, and some others, but not to Sony.
      Xperia XZ1 is a living proof of just how important power management is as much as the hardware itself.
      Besides, do you even know the fact that this Xperia 1 Mk 2 has a feature called "H.S. Power Control?" I assume you do, in that case you also know that it greatly helps to prolong the longevity of the battery's health, and have less degradation than a typical smartphone battery with no such enhancements. To Sony and most people, that's far more important that their phone's battery last longer in terms of lifespan, and now that everyone's stuck at home in this pandemic outbreak, everyone's also have access to power source at all times, so anyone with this phone can simply leave their phones in the charger and use it with H.S. Power Control and not even use the battery at all.

        You didn't say anything about Samsung, which he used to compare Sony phones to, so are you saying that they have great battery life? I assume you do, in that case Sony phones are on par to them despite the lower capacity, which makes it wonder what they can do with 4000mAh battery if their 3330mAh battery is on par with Samsung's 4100mAh battery.

        It's not like he's obligated to compare Sony phones to basically everyone just to fulfill your laziness to do so.
        If you want to make a point yourself, then you do it by yourself. You have no caretaker on the internet, especially not here.

          Same problem as always with Sony.

          A 4K display coupled with a 4000 battery? If they can't identify that they is too small then they're simply stupid.

          OnePlus 8 Pro which I have doesn't have a 4K display, it's 1440p, the battery is 4400 and it could have benefited from being bigger, so a 4000MAh battery on a 4K phone is just ridiculous, you will be lucky to see the day out.

          100% should have been 5000MAh, it's as simple as that

              An OLED screen that has 1440*3040 pixels claimed, has
              Green 1440*3040
              Red 720*1520
              Blue 720*1520

              This enables the display to recreate an 720*1520 RGB image, and 1440*3040 with some magic. You don't have to be a bachelor of math to understand that 720 blue, 720 red and 720 green pixels stand for a 720p display. What makes you believe that by adding 720p more in green, you turn a 720p screen into a 1440p screen?

              Now please explain to me how i'm going to see green OLED pixels "effectively" substituting for blue and red.

Bringing up brand fanboism to the discussion won't help your argument here, in fact the more famous the company is the more they are exposed to criticisms.
                        If a device has a battery-hog component then its battery won't last long - just as obvious as saying "People die if they are killed".

                          To calculate the effective resolution of an OLED panel you need to divide the number of pixels on each side by the square root of 2, not 2 - So 3.2K display of Galaxy S20 becomes 2.3K (Essentially FHD+) whereas the one on Xperia 1 II becomes 2.7K display with extra 80 vertical resolution compared to S20's.
                          When you see how much power the display sucks out of battery, the ones that you should pay your attention to are the web browsing and the video playback scores (especially the latter because browsing slightly more CPU intensive than simply loop-playing the video) and not the overall score. And don't even bother looking at phones with different generation SoCs if you're looking for fairer comparisons.

                            Apart, I see a lot of Samsung and OnePlus fanboys hurting from the fact that Samsung's 8k video recording and OnePlus's 120hz screen trends are not picked up by Sony.

                            Nobody complains about S10 and S20 battery life, these phones are massively sold, but when Sony has similar battery life with 4k screen, it suddenly becomes a battery hog.

                            Get rid of double standards then give Sony negative comments.

                              as for 4k vs hrr...
                              if you swipe a lot, then get the hrr... XD
                              if you watch a lot, of course with the appropriate content, get the 4k...
                              4k has little practical said the expert reviewer?
                              4k oled actually looks like 2k ips...
                              so a 2k oled? right, an fhd ips...
                              heck, i have a 4k ips (not hdr though) z5 premium, so watching on a 2k oled might not be immersive to people like me who are near sighted...

                              in the end, get a phone that ticks all the checkboxes of features you want...
                              again, this is just for sony fanboys... for alpha users? they might get the xperia pro... that is it it will really reach such users... XD

                                with OLED when 4k claimed = its native RGB resolution is 2k.

                                hence we have sony with 4k in green and 2k in blue and red.
                                everyone else with 1440p in green, 720p in red and blue. You call that a FLAGSHIP SCREEN?

                                That's why Sony never released OLED screens until they could master 4k - which barely surpasses the FullHD IPS screens of 10 years ago.

                                before Sony entered the game, OLED has been a way to sell an HD screen at a price of a TV, convincing comsumers it's a 1440p screen.

                                Now at least with Sony the screens reached 1080p in real RGB, not RG GB.

                                    All that IP68 rating is rendered useless on modern smartphones with a simply crack.
                                    If you accidentally drop your phone and it gets cracked all that water resistance is gone.

                                        Water damage is normally not covered - as it'll mostly be user error for not closing slim tray enough, too deep, too long or what not. However, if you have a valid reason like faulty o-ring and the customer service agrees, you could have it replaced - albeit very rare.
