HDR end results are products of tone mapping which is coloring process after images are stacked, it's tone mapping which gives that boost in the shadows and sharpness like it's been through high pass filter.

    looks like there's so many fanboy of other phone manufacturers that have probably never used a recent sony flagship smartphone and just bashing on the phone without even trying it for themselves first, lol

Haven't they previously said their rationale was that most newer phones require a USB to 3.5mm adapter (the choice of which could influence audio quality)? Not really an excuse not to give coverage of something which Sony have chosen to make a headline feature in my book.

        Anonymous, 30 May 2020Great, nearly perfect phone to my opinion. Would love to ha... moreIn fact it doesn't cost more than OP8 pro. You get a NC Sony headphones that alone costs 300 bucks. So in the end its just 900 bucks, 100 bucks cheaper than op8 pro.

          I wish from GSM screen lab to clarify if the brightness test were done with the motion blur on or off because i am pretty sure from its functionality it affects the screen brightness negatively, if it was either it is good to confirm if it has any influence.

                      5 years using Xperia.

                      So glad my phone does not have backdoor nor software that detects antutu to boosts its core by prevent the throttle.
                      And I do not need new battery. :)

                          [deleted post]Nice Juan streaming using Xperia 1 Mark II. Front cam is not at all bad.
                          Also another usefulness of separate 3.5mm from usb c. You can stream/recording video, charge and use microphone at same time :)

                            Believe it or not.....Xperia 1ii is far far better than iphone 11 pro max, Galaxy Note10/S20.. This is the best smartphone in market right now.

                                Vooc is just a fast charging tech that makes sure your battery will not explode while being charged at higher voltage. Two batteries at 32.5W , not single cell at 65W as people think.
                                Two batteries being charged at 32,5 W will be 100% faster than using a bigger battery and 65W.

                                Fast charging has nothing to do with Sony new HS.

                                HS will turn off battery while phone is only powered by the cable. If the battery is 50%, person turns on HS and after 1h, 2h , 5h or 10h of continuous use, the battery will still be 50%.

                                Something else. There is a huge difference between temperature of a phone being charged and phone being charged while used.

                                  YouTube limited to 2k.

                                  So much for these guys bragging about viewing 4k content.
                                  It's not even accessible half the time in a piss poor attempt to extend battery life.

                                    You're the one talking about less resolution display. I'm talking about 4K display which is high and not less. iPhone screen is not even worth my consideration. They use less ppi and the display is mediocre.May be they are good in colours compared to scrappy Samsung/chinese but still mediocre resolution.

                                    I think you only read GSMA review and don't care about other reviews. The guy who write this review might not able to get 4K resolution due to his less bandwidth (Amazon/Netfliy uses auto resolution based on your internet). Haven't you seen old Xperia 1 display reviews and latest unbox therapy where he played 4K videos on youtube?? Are you just gonna believe only false misquotations and ignore the facts ?? Because that hurts your feelings?? Ok, let's assume 4K from Xperia is 1080p. Imagine your tiny FHD and QHD displays might be 720p or 480p. So before jumping into conclusions, think with your brain.

                                    4K and 500 nits are 2007 ish?? Are you out of your mind?? Forget about phones When was the last time you have seen a 4K display in TVs?? How many nits your laptop gives you?? So if a smartphone has 1000nits and give you fake colors, it is fine by you?? Makes no sense.

                                      [deleted post]After listening to those two this review is definitely rushed, the fact that they said this phone has so much features to cover especially in the camera department that you can't review it all at once made me think that most tech sites now are sell outs. So I'm looking forward to the reviews targeting this phone in specific segments before I pass any judgement on it, seems the v60 is the only phone beating it at audio so Sony has upped their audio game along with their camera game as well.
