Hardware weaker than XA1/XA2.
It will not perform miracles.

Night mode photos taken by Phone Arena are much better than auto mode.

There are still third party camera apps that can reach even raw quality without rooting. Who really cares about some 'secrets of Xperia' are the happiest android camera users. Crap stock 108mp chinese not in a million years of 3/8/12/23mp of Xperia. Best device to have to date quality/price!

sony phones have no support, no future android updates, their custom interface last only during particular sale.when you review phone at least state support after sale.

The achilles hee of this phone is the camera once again.
Seriously, what kind of low light mode is which makes the picture show less detail?? Look at the bricks, you can better see them in the wall on the non night mode photo.

No to talk about the general quality of the camera, it lacks detail. But as I mentioned the low light photos are below average, this camera performance would be shameful even from Chinese manufacturers at this pricepoint...

4k 30FPS video is extremely shaky even with EIS - it's a pity they left out OIS. I would not give my Nexus 5x for this one as that beats this phone is camera every way.

Display brightness is also a bit too low in my opinion, mainly if somebody is flying a drone occasionally like me.

        +1 for headphone jack!

One thing is sure, this phone is not made for the enthusiast users like us!

Has a Ferrari engine but everything else is trash.

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2020Xperia phones are more screwed up than I thought.Sony Mobile and other divisions have been working technically alone for years due to separation and independence without the interference of another division for 6 years due to the difficulty of Sony back then and for financial transparency. It was incoherent turns out, especially in 2018 for Mobile, it did a lot of sacrilegious and damage. It wasn't until mid to late 2018 where all divisions working back together again like used to. So, it needs time to rebuild everything from the ground.

RishiGuru, 09 Jun 2020A highly overpriced phone, only to be praised and borne by ... moreIndia is protecting domestic labor by taxing the crap out of imports. The only ones who loose are the middle and lower class people because they can't get to choose, instead they are left with whatever is being manufactured in India. That's why there are many India exclusive models made in India for average Indians.

OwnFix3, 09 Jun 2020" I think it's the best, longest-lasting and most durable m... moreWell, with scarce natural resources, determination on strength and mechanical properties of materials with its statics state and other problems we're facing on manufacturing phones and generalization on taste markets, we're not seeing phones with a combination other than glass front, plastic/aluminum/stainless steel frame, and plastic/glass back honestly. Last time the diversity more than that was around the mid-2010s (2014-2017).

Well, here's some perspective I think about Xperia 10 II when compared to the original 10:

1.) Display: You get OLED now instead of LCD. Sure, dimmer. But if it has to do with preserve the OLED in long-term (2-3 years), I'll get over with it. Hopefully, the complaints of not having OLED in Sony mid-rangers are over. Hopefully, the HDR-compliant feature is next in the line for their future mid-rangers.

2.) Battery: 25% bigger battery life, at 3600 mAh vs 2870 mAh from 10, optimizations and battery care tech, marking far better 92hr ER compared to 65hr of 10. It could be more than 100hr if call time were more optimized...

3.) Camera: Sure, the results are lukewarm, but at least, versatility is here to accompany the camera. Good to know. Even some more expensive phones don't have this versatility, which's odd. An upgrade in hardware compared to barebones Xperia 10.

4.) Build material: I'm fine with the plastic frame honestly. Sometimes plastics have their advantages over metal. And as for GG6, well, that's a complete rarity in this range, so that's a plus (only Reno4 5G and 10 II have it). IP68/IP65, a welcome return feature in Sony mid-ranger for the International market since Xperia M5.

5.) Design: Well, that formula design for Xperia is already great. No need to change it again. A little bit bezel trim in next iteration is welcomed, but other than that is perfection.

6.) Pricing: I do think some steps back in pricing couldn't hurt to around 300 USD to the max, but at least with the essential hardware is there where even mid-ranger now removing those essential (especially 3.5mm jack), I do think is appreciated some features are still there.

7.) Performance: Except for Xperia X series, M5, SP, and other performance-oriented mid-rangers Sony in the past, to be honest, Sony mid-ranger never brag about performance, but rather optimization, and Xperia 10 II is the same, despite SD665 is a mid-ranger chipset. Maybe with the 10 III, we could see a more powerful one (SD68x or SD72x). However, with Qualcomm chipset's very wide option and confusion on their chipset stratification, we'll have to see next year.

8.) Speakers: Mixed-feeling for me. Hopefully, they bring stereo speakers in 10 Mark III.

So, honestly a huge upgrade over last year Xperia 10, so Sony did this time for the mid-ranger, though more works and other upgrades for 10 Mark III are more than welcome, especially in camera and speakers. Well, opinion to myself and opinion to themselves.

Clearly the article is biased against Sony. Donno why. Also people complaining why it doesn't have 855 or better features stop talking like dumb people. Check the price and speak. It's better than any samsung phone at that price range. More than anything it's not completely made in china like samsung or even apple is.

At the least they should have given 730G/765G.

Again, it doesn't have to be stereo, but if it is, the better. Another thing to look at is how well are they calibrated. I'm sure Sony does a good job because they have their entire audio division for this sole purpose.

A decent mid-ranger. That's it and comparing it to the A71 is actually nice, because it shows that it's better than the A51, which was priced closer to the 10 II than the A71 was.
