1,500 nits?! Do the phones come with shades? :D
Soon we'll be complaining about sunlight getting too dark when we use phones outdoors.

How can they call this an Ultra when there is an S20 model with 16GB of RAM yet no Note20 Ultra model can claim this? Does anyone have any idea what Samsung's reasoning is on this? The S20 Ultra 16GB/512GB handles like a high-performance jet fighter with all of that memory

Bogdan, 07 Aug 2020Samsung said they changed some things inside it to make it ... moreNo, the use of snapdragon SOCs obey other considerations, regarding the market and ultimately the telecom regulations imposed by gvt of the countries where snaps are implemented, if that wad not the case, samsung would use their exynos, a better profit for them!

Samsung is desperate to milk every cent out of costumers they can.
A series with phones that bring Gorilla 3 and plastic back and no longer with IP rating.
$1000 Note 20 with gorilla 5, plastic back and less than 400ppi.
They need to stop with cost cuts like chinese brands.

Bogdan, 07 Aug 2020Samsung said they changed some things inside it to make it ... moreWell they do it on purpose, but not the reason you may think:
Samsung probably gets a "first come first serve" deal with qualcomm in most regions where they save money on the latest chipset. This is probably not the case for europe, so they decide to put exynos over there.
If samsung had just always used exynos, then they would have prioritized their exynos chipsets keeping up with the times. If they had always used snapdragon, their phones would have also kept up with the times.

wasox, 07 Aug 2020No, you talk as if an exynos 990 was an utterly inferior S... moreI am using a S10e exynos because this is the one we got. my phone gets hot pretty quick, the battery backup is not as good as SD version. my 4.5 year old 6s plus never gets got and very smooth. performance wise exynos is not bad either but efficiency is a big factor for mobile CPU's. Exynos is inferior in that aspect.

Its just a new release - guess most of the mobile cost is behind the camera and processor that it...spending such a big amount when you have similar performance rated mobiles around is not a game.
I would prefer Note 10 lite with 4500mhz battery and improved Oi against the note 20 - even you can save a big amount and get almost all of the experience of using a latest note series.

Sepehr, 07 Aug 2020I have a Note10+ and i don't think changing to note20u... moreI agree. The Note 10 is a better deal and the camera are not any better on the ultra. Actually the ultrawide lens is 16MP on the Note 10 versus 12MP on the ultra.
The Exynos versions of the ultra is garbage anyway so no need to waste a truckload of money on something totally inferior and next year there's already coming a Note 21 anyway.. At that time the 20 Ultra might be much less in price.

It doesn't attract me this Note phone bcz. of the camera bump thick as it's buddy, the camera hole on screen and the old style buddy like lady lingerie look, it should have been painted on the back of the phone large "Note 20..." or such for the heavy price people pay for the unique fablet, but is not something special. Perhaps is nice note phone for someone, but not for me...i'll keep my Note Edge.

Remember you don't have SD and Exynos phone at the same time, so you can compare side by side,
it is just numbers you probably never noticed it, my biggest concern is the color, they say mystic bronze, for me it is pink, there is only 2 choices in my country girly pink with matt finish back,
and black with shine fingerprint magnet back, come on Samsung not many girls will bay the Note 20 Ultra.

ASUS ROG Phone 3, 07 Aug 2020I started using Samsung first Generation Note and enjoyed i... moreWell, from the early days of Exynos, it performed better than its SD counterpart. And when the SD 810 was a total flop (and all the other companies needed to accept it), the Samsung Exynos phones in that year were highly praised.
The problem is that SD evolved, changed, improved, Exynos not. I think the Note 8 was the last device where Exynos and SD were somewhat the same. Since the S9 series things have started to get bad for Samsung and their Exynos series.
For me personally, S9+ was the last Samsung flagship I will ever buy until Samsung changes their policy or they improve the Exynos chipset to be on par with SD version.
For me recently it is the other way around. My cheap second hand iphone SE 1st gen (a 4 years old phone) is incredible snappy and fast with the latest IOS 13.6. In comparison, my last 2 cheap Android phones (Samsung A20e and Redmi Note 8 Pro) starting having lag after just couple of months, even in normal usage.
