They basically said that it takes different frames and uses an algorithm to improve the pictures. You said that it takes different frames and uses machine learning to improve the picture. So, they're literally the same statements.

What this review doesn't mention at all:
I have a Pixel 3a and Night Sight takes up to 7(!) seconds. That's totally unacceptable and Night Sight often leads to slightly blurry photos, unless you don't want to breathe for 7 seconds. The Pixel 3a has HDR+ enhanced, which is a fast Night Sight mode and takes up to 2.5 seconds (or 3.5 if you zoom). The results are also sharper and more consistent than Night Sight. With Night Sight you often need to take the photo again, so it's 2.5s vs 14s. So the 3a has a real advantage here. HDR+ enhances gives you the same noise performance as Night Sight, only in complete darkness Night Sight is better.
Regarding the white balance: Google's white balance got much worse with the latest Pixel phones. A Google Nexus 5x has better white balance than the 3a. And the 3a has better white balance than the Pixel 4.

No, these details are produced by Google's machine learning. Google's zoom combines multiple frames AND uses machine learning. I have a Pixel 3a and in perfect light conditions Google's zoom is basically useless. Google's zoom basically only improves the noise, which leads to more details in not perfect light conditions.

In India, OnePlus Nord is priced at around 373$ (Local Price) for the 128 GB Model
Google PIxel 4a should be priced around 450$ (Local Price) due to import duties.
Which phone should I go for if taking videos is my main priority?

imagine saying not much of an upgrade compared to the pixel 3a as a con. google saw how well the pixel 3a did. anyway the few upgrades are necessary ones like the storage and screen. it also costs $50 less than the launch price of the pixel 3a. pixel 4a is an awesome phone. really disappointed in gsmarena this time :(

I think if people really want a comparable, yet better, alternative at the same price...
...well, try and get a OnePlus 7 Pro / 7t (discontinued models) quickly on a good discount before all the stocks run out.
But for everyone else, there is the Oppo Realme X2.
Basically better than this phone in every way, in terms of hardware. As for the software, install Gcam Port and flash a great Custom Rom (Official EvolutionX OS). I've seen some good Tempered Glass protectors, Cases, Chargers, and Accessories for it too. The good thing is, unlike Xiaomi, Oppo phones in fact get more software updates, have no built-in ads, better international sales support, and it has more 4G/LTE bands that are used. Oh, and while Xiaomi is falling out of favour with some developers, Oppo/Realme is picking up traction, so it seems like these are the better long-term alternatives to aim for.

iPhone SE should just get 3.5 stars.
Nord can get 3 or slightly higher.
Poco F2 Pro should be slightly higher than 4.
Just my opinion.

For 350 bucks, a heck of a phone.
In fact, Google hardware team took some good decisions with this one. Only if they could do the same for flagships

Don't know what's the deal but every other website is trying to please Google or rather not offend. Even GSMarena review is not fair and frank like all their other reviews. They did not list anything as cons for this phone like the lack of 90Hz display, no 765G chipset, no Ultrawide lens, not splash resistant, no 5G, and comparatively high price of you look at Redmi, Realme.

All these Chinese sub brands are unheard of Here in Canada the only option we have is the iPhone SE.
If you want a good mid range device you're looking at either the A51 or pixel 4a.

Can't even do split screen multitasking.
Either ways that tiny display destroys any capability of the A13 processor as Content consumption, gaming, web browsing everything is better on big screen.
Heck even texting and typing using a keyboard on tiny 4.7 inch screen is cumbersome for most users.

i would choose a phone with great battery life over a phone like se which has pathetic ( uninspiring ?? dude it's battery life suckZ .. why are you guys hesitating to say it 👎👎 ) battery life ..

The Redmi K30 Pro looks more modern on design, but we all know that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is a much more modern, and perhaps should I say more advanced overall phone in comparison.
Nobody should be concerned about how a phone looks when it works perfectly well as a whole package.
I keep on borrowing my sister's iPhone 7 Plus and I don't even notice its 2016 design standards due to how great of a phone that thing is even up to this day.
