I think this is a formidable phone. Sony needs to be more aggressive in terms of marketing and sales/service support. A few polishes here and there and I think it'll be a great phone. Aspect ratio may be a deal-breaker.

    any review of sonys phones based on specs and a few days of use is pointless. to my experience and from reading the comments here on this site, sony phones tends to malfunction after a short while, so it requires a long term review. sony is pricing next to apple and samsung but its product quality is closer to the sticker phones you will find on aliexpress. any review reader who is considering buying a sony should take this into account. and for gsm arena: stop publishing short term review of this brand.

Well sorry to say, but that's not what Sony is aiming for, and if I were you, I'd be packing my way out here now because I should already be able to understand that this phone is NOT for me, and I should look elsewhere for my needs instead of wasting my precious time talking irrelevant stuff here.
        But I know you. You won't do that anyway. Saying those rubberish things make your life better, right? Congrats! You've just proved to me how worthless to have a good conversation with you.

                    Fantastic phone. I am impressed by the battery life with that refresh rate and I certainly prefer less 'instagrammy' photos and more natural stuff. Shame the bigger flagship missed the mark on US 5G offerings and battery life.

                        Why is it that pix taken for Samsung phone reviews are done in nice sun-lit days, while pix for Sony reviews are with over-cast? That alone makes the comparison of pix not objective. I would thing that it's a no brainer than the conditions need to be similar for objective comparisons.

                          Stop feeding into stupidity. Bezels are great as it houses more (and better) facial recognition and front facing stereo speakers.

                                  87h endurance rating for 120Hz despite the 5000mAh battery? Sounds good.

                                  Higher brightness? Also higher risk of burn in. No wonder why Samsung phones are notorious for such issue.
                                  OLEDs at 500 nits are already bright outdoors. Not like the display is invisible if it doesn't go 600 nits or something.
                                  Sony understands them and therefore doing extra steps to further prolong the phone's lifespan, unlike others that are intentionally making self-destructing products *cough Note 7*
