I'm talking about how good computational photography are today on certain smartphone. No RAW mode involve here, since bigger sensor always win on it.
https://www.eoshd.com/news/fuji-gfx-100-loses-to-huawei-p40-pro-plus-smartphone-for-dynamic-range/
Surprisingly, older P40 dynamic range can go up to 15 steps. That is more than most APSC camera does, and more close to Full Frame DSLR/mirrorless sensor. It really shows how smartphone camera can kill todays digital compact camera (1", micro 4/3 sensor). And again, of course it lost on details because of the limited sensor size, but hey, the computational photography are crazy nowadays.

I switched from Pixel 4 to Xperia 5 II. I like this camera, but I'll acknowledge it's not the very best. Especially HDR can be a struggle, but most of the images it produces are good enough for me.
Don't get me wrong, I value the camera, but the rest of the 5 II just makes it the best overall phone in eyes. Literally the only thing missing is wireless charging. The screen is great, the software nice, the battery fantastic, the size makes it super easy to hold, the camera's are pretty good (especially when you know how to use photo pro) and it has great extras like a 3.5mm jack and a notification light.
So ye, Xperia doesn't have the best auto cams, but they are some of the best all rounder phones I think

Conclusion is to go and buy ZV-1 or RX100 if you want proper both photos and videos. Phones can't come close.
On a side note I'm sure many people are interested in skyline/architectural and foliage photography but many others are also interested in shooting people, places, food, sports, pets etc. OK social situation is what it is but even before that photo samples were always limited foliage and buildings.

The only working one are the 5.1 version, which is way way ancient since it doesnt has HDR+ processing, older image algorithm & many more features.

Hair, shoulders, ears and fingers are cut by blur.
They cannot physically blur unless doing closeup shots.
Blur is 100% software. Reason why it is crappy from all phones.

iPhone portraits look fake?
Good luck with that cutout blur of the google pixels.
GSMA themselves said that the iPhone takes the most natrual looking photos.
One time you use GSMA's words to prove against iPhones, another time you completely ignore them.
Goes to show how you really don't care about GSMA's reviews.

Even IF the xiaomi mi 10 ultra was sold outside of china, it would sell maximum 800K units on the first day.

Shanti Dope, 28 Nov 2020Not everyone allows unlocking bootloader though. Sometimes ... moreNot my problem...
OnePlus, Realme, Xiaomi allow it.
Don't know the status of other brands in 2020.
Risk of wiping data? it is always recommended to wipe and do a fresh install after root.
There are multiple benefits of Root, not just with RAW and camera2api.

iOS.Never.Again, 28 Nov 2020Jpg+RAW can be done on any phone with root.
Not everyone allows unlocking bootloader though. Sometimes some of them are even harder to unlock compared to others, and the risk of accidentally wiping out all data makes the process so much of a hassle. Yes you can back your things up, but it's not totally worth all the effort just to have root tbh.
Even if you get root access, most of the time it's just the main sensor that gets an enabled camera api, not the other sensors.
Sony is literally allowing you to shoot in RAW with all rear cameras right out of the box, which makes porting GCAM so easy.
