WhyGoogle, 05 Nov 2021Don’t buy it. PleaseI am using a Pixel 2 for years now and the camera is great.
I skipped the 3 4 and 5 because no real progress.
For me the Pixel 6 Pro is tempting.
But being a pixel peeper I would like to have also the full-res output.

For the periscope, depends on the sensor. Because the 48MP from samsung is not really 48MP like exmor imx582/586/589.

What do you think guys out there, do you think that a camera app developed by a third party could make full-res images possible?

Just comparing daylight photos with my 5 year old Nexus 5X. Pixel 6 photos appear to be a bit sharper. However the Pixel 6 smooths out fine details. This smoothing is very evident in distant trees. Probably related to too much sharpening! New updates will hopefully resolve this.

It might not be the clear winner overall (I guess Mi 11 Ultra generally holds the crown), but its quite comparable with the top dog flagships IMO. Might actually be the 2nd best if you mostly care about indoor photos of people.

5000+mah battery and it’s clocking in that kind of battery life? That’s laughable!

Puppy , 03 Nov 2021- Screen issues (some units have second hole ) - Bad micr... moreYeah I canceled my order for a pixel 6 for several reasons...one is that if you want a better phone and need a pixel 6 then get the pro...I was not willing to pay that much. It suffers from several issues I cannot live with one being Performance with battery life, and lastly if I were to buy it just out of curiosity as to what Google will do with their own hardware more so from a developer perspective I would rather wait for a fire sale on it or for it to go down in price. Technology is nothing special nowadays. Clearly people on this forum are educated and microscope the tar out of tech and any piece of architecture that is flawed all the way down to the last pixel (no pun intended). The issue is really that Companies want to make money to keep doing this but not for the real reason of supplying consumers. It is business as usual. We or consumers drive the market by simply buying and continually going online and hitting add to cart...even if it makes no real sense to do so...imagine if all the youtubers that bank their paychecks on mobile phones simply saw the reality that it is just stuff to look at and has no real bearing on life as we know it lol. My LG from 2018 takes just as good videos and pics as any phone I have every owned in my life up to now and it cost me 150 dollars.

Jasper5774, 05 Nov 2021Let's just wait for few months till they improve batte... moreWhy should you? Why should anyone wait for a released half-baked product to become usable in a couple of months?
Especially in Google's case.
This company has billions of dollars for R&D, thousands of employees and all that results in 2 released devices a year that are STILL unfinished! I mean, that's laughable.
To add insult to injury, 6 and 6 Pro were meant to be released in late 2020. So they're in the development for a long long time and they still failed to finish it.

ABF Media, 04 Nov 2021Funny how Anandtech never bothered how iPhone isn't ru... more"it is running at 80hz-90hz"
It sounds like a completely bogus claim given that iPhone 13 Pro uses a VRR panel and the refresh rate can vary from 10Hz to 120Hz. The usual "capture the frames in slow motion and divide it by the number of seconds to deduce the frame rate" method won't work here, as with other phones with a VRR display.
