So, there's reduced noise even when you fully zoom in, compared to same resolution photo taken by normal means (i.e. no pureview).
As for what you're referring to, the noise will become visible once fully zoomed in.

iphone 13 pro max, of same price point, for ex uses oversharpening to simulate grass detail preserve, but color managment is way off.

Again, Xperias shot quality is prefered.

And them Costing the same, (Xperia 512gb/12 gb, iphone 1tb/6gb), I dont see the pricepoint com nonsns relevance, especialy when grass detail is a reference.

Them all are overpriced, expensive, but quality of Pro-I cam is unquestionable here.

But i notice the difference in light balance, where Xiaomi has more visible objects than Sony, with its overly aggressive shadows and too black sky.

Anonymous, 03 Dec 2021The shadow-boosting in the review was often way too much. ... moreOh, Xperias main camera definitely wins IMO, at least over Mi11 Ultra (1450e for 256gb variant) which I just checked and compared it with. Amazing camera on this phone. Unrivaled detail preservation in lowlights, and are topnotch just the way they are, no need for silly brightness boosting.
Tho the AI does seem to, quite rarely, miss triggering auto hdr.
Dont know why they con over not using the entire sensor, as even with 60% results are staggering, especially the night shots.

With that price, I'd rather buy a fuji XS-10 with a f1.4 prime lens and oneplus nord 2 and still have $200 in my pocket.

This new Sony Xperia Pro-I is getting Nokia Lumia 1020 wibes to me. Its kinda like new Nokia Lumia 1020 but as a Sony Xperia. Hopefully some other brands will also start using camera tech like this. Samsung for example with the new S22 Ultra or Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max in future. I am a huge mobile phone nerd and I collect and test many different phones.

If I need a great, compact, pocketable camera I'd rather take ancient rx100 for $200. It takes a way higher quality photos than any smartphone.

The shadow-boosting in the review was often way too much.

I think overall the Xperia wins, the iPhone comes second and Xiaomi last.

Only die-hard Sony customers will buy this. The price isn't justifiable by any means given that a very capable Sony Mirrorless can be had for a much lower price. I think Sony has lost its focus in their consumer smartphones creating a niche product for few people with lots of money and even those people would even think twice since the pricing is very high.

I do applaud Sony's effort for bridging the gap between smartphone photography and DSLR/Mirrorless photography. But until we can see at least an M43 sensor on a mainstream smartphone, smartphone camera still has a LONG way to replace a full-fledge DSLR or Mirrorless camera.

The Sony a6000 these days can be purchased brand new for $400.
                                        You still have $600 to buy a 30mm F1.4 and 16mm F1.4 Sigma lens.
