Back to iOS after years of Android use

Over the years, I have switched to and fro between Android phones(always flagships) and iPhones. There is no perfect piece of technic and software. Everything boils down to personal choice and taste. Presently, I own the iPhone 13 pro max. Before that I had the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Both are great. As a camera fan, I think that the current iPhone has one of the best and most reliable cameras. I only miss the 10x zoom from Samsung. Yes, Apple is not always the fastest in implementing things but when they do, they do it smoothly and perfectly. In order to like iOS, you need to invest more time to understand the system. I also had difficulties in the beginning(started from 8plus) but now I feel comfortable. And by the way, there is an Apple widget that shows you the percentage of the battery on your phone. Apple does it in its own way and it works. My advice, as a reviewer you should use 2 phones, an Android and an iPhone. That way, you can have an open and unbiased professional mind.

Amazing that a 203 gram phone with flat sides has become a "smallish" phone.

Well-written, well-reasoned and honest opinion. I don't get the crazy comments from the fanboy brigade, but with all the trolls and the crazies, and the stupids living on the internets, it's to be expected.

I guess this is what we do now, shame people for having an opinion. You really are something, calling someone to be fired and lose their job because you don’t agree or like their opinion or personal experience.

I too made the switch to iPhone.
The thing i miss about android the most, beside the number line in the keyboard and the punctuation, is the ability to dial anyone by name from the phone app directly using the number pad itself. To someone who has gotten used to using the number pad to quickly make calls, this is just too many steps just to make a call.
And yeah siri is not an alternative. Apple just does not work that way.

This entire article sounded like someone with Stockholm syndrome. Hate the freedom of Android systems and nitpicks trivial stuff and so went to Apple because of its backward UI and hugeass headaches for using anything. Makes perfect sense. And he didn't even talk about the major issue of transferring files to or from the PC.
Time to fire this guy for losing all objectivity, GSMArena.

Good points here. There is a reason why the iPhone is so popular, especially among the beautiful class.

Agree with the writer on all except battery % display. Also if iphone removes the ugly notch, makes uniform back gesture throughout UI and gives a better native keyboard I'll definitely consider switching from Pixel

I made the switch 2 times lol. Got it then went back to my old android then went back again. I don't regret this at all (actually my only regret is getting the max instead of the regular 13 pro). Somehow all the apps i use are better on iphone. Small details like the screenshot that doesn't get saved automatically are reallly amazing.
Yes, the software is limiting but for me at this age i don't really customize much. There are couple of features that i miss like split screen, but i learened to live without, as i only used them occasionally.
Honestly, the only way i see myself going back to Android is when google does a better job with Pixel.

But I cannot blame you when the alternative is a messy but open android. Which btw is slowly turning into IOS with every major os release.

I can absolutely understand where this article is coming from. I dual wield devices, Z Fold 3 (personal) and iPhone 12 Pro Max (work), and whilst they are BOTH mobile devices, it is HOW they accomplish daily tasks that stands out.
iOS just works. Period. The learning curve is complimented by the maturity of the OS/Hardware and SDK. Apple tax aside, I readily understand why people come back time and time again.
In Android, OEMs have to customize and compile a pre-existing OS to meet their customer’s demand. Nevermind the fact they have to source the most appropriate hardware each and every year instead of reusing existing technology like Apple. I’m sure it saves money not investing into your own silicon but at what expense to the customer?

For starters, it was cheaper than the Android alternative of a premium small smartphone. Also, there is nothing my iPhone can't do that my Android Samsung or Pixel could do.
