Aierlan, 19 Feb 2022OIS is hardware built in to the phone. It will work at all ... moreI think the OP is correct here. OIS although being a hardware level is not used for 4k videos. You'll see 4k videos shaky compared to 1080p. Doesn't bother me though. 4K recording on a midrange phones shouldnt be looked either.

Uncle John, 19 Feb 2022You should avoid such expressions as "in its class&quo... moreBecause it is good only for its class that includes A52s 5G and Nord 2. The 9 Pro+'s camera is not really rivalling flagships like Realme's pre-launch marketing would like people to believe. Now, is that still too hard to comprehend?

lol more expensive than A52s? (which clearly better in everywhere), realme pro series aren't interesting anymore like before 6 pro series. I dont see any realme phones that makes daily interest in this website become top 10 everyday like samsung and xiaomi.

You should avoid such expressions as "in its class", "for this class", "in this price range" etc when it comes to rating the item.
How do we know the actual absolute quality of the camera, if you keep referring to a meaningless class standard?
In this case, the camera hardware is flagship level, IMX766, OIS, f1.8
The results should be comparable with the best, like S22+; Xiaomi 12 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max etc
        No? Just because it's cheaper?

They need to use whatever philosophy they are using to process the ultrawide and apply it to main camera. Finer details are handled better on ultrawide despite mediocre hardware.

Anonimo, 18 Feb 2022Does this phone support NFC in the European market? Mess... moreCheck the specs always. There they mention everything. For this phone it says it has NFC, but it's region or market dependant...

Anonymous, 18 Feb 2022I don't understand the praise it's camera got, it... moreOIS is hardware built in to the phone. It will work at all resolutions on the main sensor. You must be referring to EIS only not OIS

I still haven't found the Realme's camera results that supposedly can match flagships though

I wonder if the camera in Realme 9 Pro+ is better than the 108 MP with 3× optical zoom from Realme 8 Pro.

                    Pumpino, 18 Feb 2022This is a great all-rounder. However, Realme's appeal ... moreSamsung really stepped up the mid-range with the a52s. Considering Realme's update policies it's a no-brainer.

I don't understand the praise it's camera got, it's overly processed, not one photo looked natural or with enough detail, most of them (from the main cam) looked like oil-paintings when zoomed in.
Then you didn't provide the stabilisation videos at all, since acc. to some people online, OIS (or EIS for that matter) doesn't work in 4k clips!?
I can probably get similar (if not better) results on my X7 Max using GCam.
Heck the lackluster UW camera has better processing with foliage and stuff despite being out of focus/not enough detailed.

I beg GSMA team to revisit the 950/XL camera like you did with the 808PV & L1020, it's been months since those articles came out!!!
And then compare those "pure" images to these overprocessed quad-bayer crap!!

This is a great all-rounder. However, Realme's appeal has always been the value proposition. You'd always get better value than with the likes of Samsung and similar value to Xiaomi.

Therefore, you know that something's wrong when this phone is beaten by the A52s in terms of specs and price (not to mention faster updates). This phone being priced similarly to the Nord 2, but with an inferior chipset and larger chin will mean most people cross it off their lists. Perhaps the days of Realme being fantastic value are going in the direction that OnePlus did.

So this phone is basically a Oneplus Nord 2, but they swapped the depth sensor for a macro one, and gave it a less powerful cpu. Did some side by side comparison, and tbh the photos from the Nord 2's IMX766 look better(when HDR is off) and less noisy. Sure, the 2x zoom is better on the Realme.

Realme really trying to sell us the same phone but nerfed down.

Actually, I'd say the main alternative for this phone is Realme's own GT Neo 2, which is on sale for some 40 bucks more (310 vs 350 euros) and it's far superior in almost every conceivable way.

The lack of a headphone jack is not that big of a dealbreaker, and the main concern would be having one less Android update.

Does this phone support NFC in the European market?

Message to the GSMArena reviewers: why do you always ignore this feature in your review? Do you realise that using your phone for payments is much more common than using it to shoot 4k 60fps videos? So much stuff for nerds in these reviews and basic information is always missing.

They should've kept both models at LED instead. LCD is outdated
