Anonymous, 23 May 2022I want a phone that has this CPU AND removable battery. Why... moreNot so much planned obsolescence but the governments and secret services want to be able to spy on you whenever they want (even with devices tuned off). But they do need power for it, therefore the non removable batteries trend.

I want a phone that has this CPU AND removable battery. Why is it too much to ask? (I know, because of planned obsolescence.)

I do not know where did you see that 865, 865+ come with "big power and heat issues". That is total nonsense.
865 is around 25% more powerful that 855 while also being more efficient.
If you want to upgrade in 2022 but do not want to pay a premium for the latest 8+Gen 1 , then the best option would be 870 that is almost as efficient as 865 and you will notice ~ 35% performance upgrade over your older 855.

Seems Samsung failed in fabrication with both exynos and Snapdragon.

Install ExaGear Windows Emulator and GTA 4.

This is the most CPU intensive thing you can do on a smartphone.

Anonymous, 22 May 2022Emulation.Your PC can do emulation even better.
I can *maybe* see the appeal for a playing gameboy (or some other handheld console), but even those are more enjoyable on a bigger screen and with a gamepad and in any case gameboy emulation does not require powerful hardware.

What would you actually want to emulate on a phone? Personally, I could not imagine spending that much money on something which my PC can do extremely well already...

I want my phone to be reliable and do all basic stuff. No need for powerful chipset as long as it doesn’t stutter and has good battery life

I want a real upgrade from the QSD 855.
All the performance increases came with big power and heat issues in the QSD 855+, 860, 865, 865+, 888, 888+, and the latest QC 8g1. The only exception was the QSD 870 which was somewhat faster and used somewhat less power (but it wasn't that big).

This newest chipset, the QC 8g1+ looks like a worthy upgrade. Because I am interested in the (6W) performance for a slim phone, that stays warm, passively cooled, and doesn't require a huge battery. I am not interested in a tablet performance (+10W), for a thick or hot phone or one that requires Active Cooling and Huge Battery.

HOWEVER. There is a huge upgrade coming in 2023 with the QC 8g2, as they will be using TSMC 4nm nodes, and the Second-gen ARMv9 cores. These are the Cortex-X3 and the Cortex-A730 cores. They're designed by the European Team, who have a much better track-record in ARMs processor history. So for anyone who got their phone (2019) before the pandemic, while I said the QC 8g1+ was worthy, you should probably wait for April-2023 to upgrade (Sony, Samsung, ASUS, Moto, OnePlus, Xiaomi, etc etc).
