The end result... The Mi 11 Ultra still remains the king of kings as far as smartphone camera's go.

            Not because of quality.
Compact cameras from Sony, Nikon and Canon that use 1.0 type can crash phones easily.

Xiaomi this time did not even bother to compared against RX100 again because it would lose.

To overcome the fact phones have inferior lenses, they need to use at least 1.5" cmos.

Anonymous, 15 Jul 202210x Images from the clock at the dame distance would have b... moreWow, those photos!

Stating that this phone has minimal bezels and no chin alone completely invalidates your entire review, not to mention everything else you've said that's just not true.

                1. The bezels have grown since mi11 ultra. They're pretty large. The chin and forehead are substantial.
                2. The optical camera is pure trash.
                3. There are already comparison videos on YouTube. The main camera is basically on par with other flagships for daylight pictures.
                4. Those same comparison videos show that Xiaomi once again lags behind its competitors for video. Colours and clarity are garbage when compared to iPhone 13 Pro or S22 Ultra. Once again it's shown that software rules when it comes to cameras, not physical size of the sensor. iPhone is still the undisputed king of video recording. However, the 12S Ultra doesn't even come close to S22 Ultra for video recording.
                5. Lowlight video is even worse. Pure utter garbage.
                6. Portrait pictures are garbage.
                7. Selfie camera is garbage.
                8. Lowlight pictures are good, but still worse than on other flagship phones.

Congratulations Xiaomi. It only took you a huge ugly bump with a larger sensor to trade blows with Samsung and iPhone for daylight pictures. Everything else you're still a decade behind.

Photo quality is just jaw dropping. Mi 11 Ultra was the best bar none, Mi 12S Ultra is even better. I'm looking at the photos and it's just mind boggling. Photos are a tad noiser than what 11 Ultra produces but that results in a crazy amount of fine details. This phone can easily replace an entry level DSLR camera for many people.

Looks like SGS22 Ultra is only better in telephoto. In everything else it's just no match for Mi 12 Ultra.

                  A fantastic marvelous job, Xiaomi!

Video quality has taken a hit for some reasons at least for test images in the lab: https://www.gsmarena.com/vidcmp.php3?idType=4&idPhone1=11614&idPhone2=10737&idPhone3=11251

11 Ultra is clearly better both in good and bad light conditions. Maybe GSM Arena could explore the issue in more details. This doesn't look right and shouldn't be happening. Actually it's in the summary: "Inconsistent color rendition in video between the three rear cameras, minor drops in video quality compared to the predecessor."

The writer was too mild/kind to Xiaomi. Video looks a lot worse than in its predecessor. I'm pretty sure this is a software bug which will be resolved as the optics have improved substantially.

'we can't say we understand its deliberate 'application' - vignetting is essentially a flaw/compromise in lens design'

I cannot believe you guys are saying this. Vignette is a very popular photographic technique among both casual and professional photographers, as well as general smartphone users, and either intentionally added or left uncorrected to create the sense of focus as well as to let photos have an organic retro look.

Some people prefer to get rid of it to get even luminance level across the frame, but when I use my Sigma F1.4 lens on my a6600 to take a portrait shots, I leave the Vignette correction off to emphasise the subject on the centre.

Leica Authentic is not about capturing a scene as realistically as possible but rather capturing its mood in a way that Leica's camera does.

Damn those night shots, even with x5 zoom 😍

but in real world ,in games they very hot , frame drop (see 3d mark test exatly , it show games stability)

now dimensity is world NO1 for gamers ,heavy works ,low heat ,new technology and architecture ,lower price

i prefer K50 PRO with dimensity 9000 (cool monster) 50% cheaper

I'm disappointed that you didn't show the screen with a white or a bright wallpaper. Due to this it's impossible to tell how big the punch hole is or the roundness of corners.

It seems that the difference vs my mi11ultra is minimal (look at noise in the low light comparison). I really wanted to give Xiaomi my money this year but it seems Xiaomi doesn't want it..oh well maybe next year then.

People here promised snapdragon by TS... moreYour complaints regarding Xiaomi's camera apply to all smartphones (In fact 12s Ultra is the least offender).I have not seen a single 12mp camera that captured details on the brick wall well, and this is including all the top dogs like S22 Ultra, Xperia Pro-I and X80 Pro. This is as good as it can get, just accept it.

I am Japanese, but both AQUOS R6 and R7 are OLED displays, and the term LCD is completely wrong.
To begin with, IGZO refers to the material, and you can use the name IGZO for both LCD and OLED.

Overheating warning? People here promised snapdragon by TSMC was gonna make things 50% better.

Leica Vibrant : few samples are disgusting. It increaseas contrast too much to make texture more evident ( like Google does) , ruins the photos. Looks like painted ( first photo gray bricks).

Screen is weaker than last generation. Gizmochina mentions few issues.

Near 5000mAh, tsmc chip, LTPO screen. Still below 100h.

Xiaomi should focus on range $300-550. Flagships are always below what ppl expect.
