I don't think you're gonna get a $250 phone with this form factor and a 778 or 7g1 unfortunately but that would be pretty awesome. Pixel 6a's $450 with tensor trades blows with 7g1 so $200 cheaper than that's a tough ask. I wish the zenfone 9 was $2-300 cheaper with a 7g1+ or something similar.

If you have access to Xiaomi, a Redmi Note 11 Pro 5g has an sd card slot, headphone jack, 695 and better screen with that ~$250 price tag but is kind of a phablet.

Xperia 10 IV is basically what you're describing but $400 cause Sony and extra gizmos.

I suggest keeping an eye out for the upcoming Motorola Edge 30 Lite, that could be the closest to what you're suggesting in the smallish size, I'm guessing $2-300 on that. No info on SD card yet, but no Xiaomi or Xperia 10 for me here in the US which is a bummer.

and then there is pixel 6a...

          There's basically no competition here.
They have the ROG series for people who want the mainstream and more.
So you don't need to be concerned about them.
I prefer smaller phones. There are others too like me. And I don't really care if the majority wants carpal tunnel syndrome.
And I am happy that Asus is even providing me an option to use something that I don't have to sacrifice my comfort.

And lmao at the recommended tray-sized Android alternatives. And iphone lol.

                7g1, 695, or 778

get rid of the cameras, put a single one on the back that costs like 5 bucks

get rid of the audio tweaks (that's another 50+ to manufacturing costs with no discernable benefit)

                use an lcd screen, 60Hz

                add sd card slot

add a green color as dark and saturated as the red

                also maybe an orange?

                sell it for 250

best phone in the world right there

An in screen reader is a lot of tech for a not always great experience. Side readers are more reliable and if waking the phone from the power button you're pressing the reader anyway.

this is my next, 28 Jul 2022I'll give you HTC's phones before they sold that ... moreWindows OS was awful therefore the phones were awful. It doesn't really matter how good the camera is if the software just isn't there. Asus aren't even in the top 10 makers worldwide. There's not way they're happy with that but people don't like to admit when they're wrong. That is essentially why companies go bankrupt. They refuse to change strategy even when it's clear their current one isn't working.

No I have average size hands for a 73 kg 181 cm male. 5.9" is very small by today's standards and the market isn't there for them. In the real world I never hear people complain their phone is too big. Even people much smaller than me

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2022For that price, Asus could have at least give 1st gen LTPO ... moreRegarding the battery I think it is pretty large considering the size. Phones with 6.5+ inch screens have 5,000 mAh. My guess is that after that Galaxy Note problem no one wants to cram the battery to the absolute limit. Dave 2D opened this phone up and it is clearly visible that there is few mm of space between the battery and the edges of phone's body
