Lovelandmark, 18 Aug 2022And something like a Xiaomi 12 - which is a direct rival to... moreThe Xiaomi 12 actually got the same score. I think that's about fair as they are closely matched enough. Actually I bought the Xiaomi 12 (China model) but returned it after just under 2 weeks so I have some experience with it. The Xiaomi 12 has a better ultrawide camera but similar main camera but a worse processor. Similar screens but the overheating on the Xiaomi 12 is a serious problem and it runs far hotter than any other phone I've used in the past (problem with the processor but the smaller size also negatively affects the heat disappation). Battery life is poor. In the summer in China the camera will have overheating issues and sometimes stops functioning after a few minutes use with an overheating message which is why I returned it (I only had it in the summer when termperatures were over 35C so don't know if this would be an issue in cooler climates or winter). I've heard this has been resolved on the Xiaomi 12s with the new Snapdragon 8 gen 1+ (but that phone is way overpriced in China compared to other brands). The Xiaomi 12 also launched at a higher price than the Oneplus 10t. Overall, I'd say the same score for those two phones is fair enough. They are similar specifications wise. The Xiaomi 12 is slightly ahead in camera performance due to a better ultrawide and build quality, but the Oneplus is ahead in performance and battery life.

I don't understand battery life score, it's so similar to Zenfone 9 but you guys gave it 97H?

Lose the front spyhole camera, nobody wants it.

Well, it's not a great buy. You say that Pixel 6 can be a good alternative, and it is. Amazon Germany is selling Pixel 6 for 515 euros and OP 10T for 800 euros. So, why not Pixel 6 Pro? It goes for the same price as 10T!

Clearly we shouldn't take the review stars for granted and have to actually read the review to find out why.

Magnificent Suleiman, 17 Aug 2022Come on guys! seriously a phone with such evident flaws get... moreIt's hard to know how the score is calculated. Even something like a Xiaomi 12 lite also gets a 4.3 and clearly this phone is better that the Xiaomi 12 lite especially for performance and the main camera! Maybe they take price into consideration but not sure as there is no article explaining how scores are calculated. Do they just pick scores based on overall impression or is there some more reliable method that goes into calculating the overall score? My guess is they pick a subjective score based on their impressions (which would not be very reliable) but I wish they wrote an article to explain their scoring process and what weight they give for different categories for transparency (something like dxomark do.)

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2022"Looks like an average mid-ranger with flagship chipse... moreNot at all, OnePlus 6T just like the 3T of old were all round great phones. 6T had a then flagship grade screen. The cameras were very competitive, the software experience and support was the best among Non pixels. Same was true for 3T before it. They also had no real competitors that matched them in those ways or bettered them in other ways at that price range. The difference here is that 10RT now has competitors at that price and even cheaper ones that offer the same plus points but has less compromises. And Samsung has also upped their software game and support for their phones while OnePlus is now one of the worst at that price range. While companies like Realme and iQOO offer much of the same tech and software since they are siblings in an even more competitive package.

That is exactly what one plus used to do between 2014-2018.
Except the SoC, the test of phone (1 to 6T) was no better than some upper midranges like Motorola X Style, Sony M5, Galaxy A9 2016.

                    Just an okish phone.
Good chipset and charging, but just about average everything else. Also, too expensive for what it offers (at least in Europe).
Looks like an average mid-ranger with flagship chipset.
Is mostly the formula nowadays. Slapping a nice chipset and some super fast charging to look good on paper, but when you go into more details with the phone, you realise that it has bigger minuses.
The score given by arena is definitely too high for this model.

Wow, the Cons list is more than twice as long as the Pros list and yet somehow the phone gets over 4 stars. Recently, GSMArena has been getting very biased over reviews. Did OP pay you or something?
And saying this is a steal in India and doesn't have any real competition other than GT 2 Pro, did you guys even look at the market?

IQOO 9T Pro is better than the 10T in almost every way. Vivo x80 sells for the same price and offers a much more premium experience. The Pixel 6 is even cheaper than this.

S21 FE is literally the same price as the OP 10T and is practically identical to S22 in many ways.
And for people in India there is also OnePlus's own alternative in 10R, which is practically an identical copy of this phone in every way apart from the chip being Dimensity 8100 Max which is still a modern flagship grade chip that performs well and costs like 25% less than this phone.
The OnePlus 9Pro sells at the same price as 10T as well and despite being over a year old, surpasses the 10T in everyway and gives a proper flagship experience even in 2022 apart from Chipset (I don't account charging since 65W is plenty fast and it has wireless charging to boot).

Yet somehow none of these got a mention in your viable alternatives. OnePlus 10T at 50k in India is anything but a steal... It's one of the worst value OnePlus flagship series phones ever released in India.

I don't mind the build and camera setup on this one, since it's more or less exactly the same as the Realme GT Neo3 and that was good enough for me then.

What really turns me off with this 10T is how poor the battery endurance score is. I don't know how they managed to get worse scores than the zenfone 9 despite having 500 mah more. It's not just the screen either, since it seems the standby score is also worse.

I was thinking of picking this up sincw this is likely to be the most accessible 8+ gen 1 phone in my region, but I guess I'll hold on to my dough and wait for more capable phones to trickle in.

You cant shoot 10bit jpeg, because this does not exist.

Saving money on excess cameras is right where I want to be; just wish they still made the slightly smaller model with a curved screen. These flagships are just too heavy

                                      Hmmm very confused.

You've basically only given it negatives yet rated it on par with the find X5. Its out specc'd in every way but chip and wired charging speed (150w vs 80w anyway), same main camera sensor but without the same stability features or quality, no telephoto and a worse ultrawide. Can't record in 10 bit or take pictures in 10 bit like the find X5 either and the X5 has wireless and reverse wireless charging. Oh and find X5 has better battery endurance, and a better design... Again exact same rating.

So it's a 3/5 phone for a proper rating (based off what you've wrote and main pros and cons plus compared to sister company phones).

"Pros - solid battery life"...i wonder why is that...maybe because it limits everything to 60-90Hz despite having 120Hz what do you think? 120Hz is just for show off? Oh well...
I'd buy this for 500, not a dollar more....
PS: but seeing that Jerryrigseverything broke it in half again after the 10 Pro, thanks but no thanks. Rip Oneplus.
