Still no reply to my two separate messages I sent them before getting rid of my Sony TV which was a NIGHTMARE. They just don't care - I don't care about their products after repeated horrible experiences.

          Other phones do exactly the same to their certain camera features if heatup occurs, but without a warning pop up.

          Id rather have a warning, than nothing.

The Xiaomi 12s Ultra sustains higher FPS during gameplay than the 12 Pro and runs considerably cooler, you can find many Chinese reviews confirming better thermal performance and powet efficiency of the new chip.

            The main selling point of Sony's flagship phone that most users can appreciate is the human and animal tracking autofocus brought from the alpha series. If you have to turn it off to prevent the phone from heating up and disabling the camera entirely, then there must be seriously wrong with how the feature is implemented.

            Sony's digital camera UI is among the least user friendly ones in the camera industry (Try Canon or Fuji if you are in doubt) and Sony had an audacity to port that thing to a smartphone camera where the ease of use is an absolute necessity. Major issues like this or even some minor 'quirks' would make it even more painful to use it. Sony has many problems to solve on Xperia in coming years.

              Xperia's support documentation is very poor but essentially if you are experiencing heat issue you need to turn off realtime face and eye AF-C. These features do God knows how many calculations per second even in viewfinder cause they think you will take burst shoot for plethora of images. Also when shooting video the same face and eye tracking is also turned on by default. There is a reason why camera doesn't overheat when using CinemaPro video but it does overheat when using PhotoPro video or VideoPro . In CinemaPro there is no AF-C tracking of any kind.

              You Xperia camera will not overheat if you just use Object tracking in regular AF-S mode. Simple as that but very hard to figure out because Xperia documentation doesn't mention it.

                Notice his comment on other SD gen8 phones shutting off camera at 15 min limit, as to not overheat.

                So be savy about what flag SD gen8 phone you buy. They all have same overheat problem, but 1 IV does it differently, and keeps on recording.

                        It is really good. Can't say that it is perfect but I dont have a choice at all. There is no other phone in the world that is powerful, "compact" and bigger bezels which are three things I care about. Price is high :( made for us without choice. Except price this is amazing phone.
                        Thank you sony for this "compact" beast

                                  Having a significant market share, being a market leader and having a strong brand image usually means you have better awareness and visibility amongst consumers than your competitor. That means consumers have more trust in what you are offering.

                                    A smartphone that overheats that much is simply not worth buying!! why should I pay 1000 euros for a smartphone that risks closing the camera application and video games after about twenty minutes?? and how do we do it in the summer? it's a half successful smartphone without cooling systems and without the latest more efficient chip the 8/1+ , i don't understand the 4.5 star rating, for me this phone is unrecommended
