Almost all specs are perfect, but believe that the top and bottom bezel will decrease and the potential will explode when it becomes a punch hole camera

Expensive TV remote with short software support. It's time for more Android phone makers to match Samsung's support for 4 major android updates.

Kriegsherr, 05 Sep 2022Why would a consumer care if they are the market leader or ... moreConsumers do care. It's called brand value or brand recognition. If there are two products that have the same specification and price, most consumers will choose a product of a more recognized brand because they believe that it's a better product.
If you're a lesser brand in term of recognition, you have to price your products lower even if your products have higher quality. This applies to all products, not only phones.

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2022It's harsh and brutal but it's true. Sony showed ... morePlus variant is not a better chip, it's pretty much more of the same. Sony does omit graphene cooling for some reason most likely due to cost cutting and that's their biggest drawback. Not having zoom module and ToF from 1 IV is OK, instead you have 60mm portrait lens which 1 IV doesn't have. You have to keep in mind that 5IV and 1IV are the lightest Android flagships in existence. Zenphone 9 weigths 3g less than 5IV but it lacks third camera and 700mAh of battery.
Reason for the heat when using cameras on Xperia IV is the super aggressive object tracking. That thing is an overkill, it track by object definition, by face, by eye. Unless object is super moving you don't really need none of that. Once you turn it off and record SDR 4K30 video (non-HLG) the camera will not overheat the phone. If you take 20fps photo burst it will heat up the phone so make sure you are in single burst or 10fps lo-burst non HDR. Those are the reasons why phone heats up when using the camera.

The best thing that the Xperias show me is that other companies are super dumb for pushing expensive underscreen and pop-up cameras as solution for notchless and punch hole less screens. All of the smartphone is stupid and the people that support this is too, which means I am stupid because having a smartphone for tech-related work is required at this point.

Crazy Weirdo, 01 Sep 2022Extremely expensive for what it is, and not to mention that... moreIt's harsh and brutal but it's true. Sony showed a lack of progression here IMO. Not using the newer, better chip is a fail. Not having a slow mode as supported by Snapdragon is a fail. NOT combating perennial cooling issues with this model is unquestionably a fail! Losing the zoom feature and not improving optical zoom instead is a fail considering price tag and status. Their software has always been so so. Asus have gone past them now in the battery software tech. No better fast charging solution is a fail. No development in post processing software that people could selectively enable is a fail.

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2022To me, it's worth extra $100 at best. Also, the thing ... moreWhy would a consumer care if they are the market leader or not? Why would a same device worth more if it comes from a market leader vs other down the line? Does it add extra value to the same device?
Doesn't seem logical to me, honestly asking.

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2022To me, it's worth extra $100 at best. Also, the thing ... moreIt takes a lot of effort and RnD money to design a Music Pro app, along with Cinema Pro and Video Pro app, Photo Pro app, Game Enhancer, etc...
Its all added value.
It doesnt matter if You value it or not, but the price point reflects that app development, along with the phones hardware internal costs.
It is not dependant of market brand image values.
People that find them apps valuable, consider the price differences reasonable also.

Now I consider that a thing of engineering compact wonder.
See any foamfillled waste of space? I dont.
Notice the size of tele cam module, and the selfie cam module.
Wait for 5 IV dissasembly video to prove me wrong.

Watch this space for Xperia 5 IV dissasembly, and see it all crammed up inside, no space for a tele cam module of 5 III.
