It's a pity, it could be the perfect phone if it doesn't have bigger and older brother.

@77 considering how good Sony cable is (TP-E 10 coating and great quality port's) and that it isn't exactly widely available it's a very good reason to complain.

I have a xperia 1 mk I and it never freezes, very smooth and does not heat with day to day operations. I dont play games on phones so dont know if it would heat up with games. having a year older phone and with higher res display in xperia 1, I never had problems that you had with 5 MK II.

if people were really smart, they would look first into the SAR value before buying any phone but they didnt. they keep arguing which one heats more while playing games. humanity never fails to amaze.

Another review with no mention of manufacturer's security updates policy. Hard to believe it's still not getting through how important that is.

But who is offering something new? most of the phones now a days are just same. you try to find one which is just more balanced and Sony 5 IV is one of the balanced devices in the market. not to mention the display without a notch/punch-hole and a good battery life.

Pretty sure no one in their right mind would buy this and not a discounted Xperia 5 III, which is not worse in practically anything. Sure, a bit of battery life, but that's all.

Though, for content creating, there might be better alternatives at this price.

Git it anyway, Used it for 4 yrs, never once did have problems about it, only a couple of times in all that time did the camera pop up that heatup notice, but never stopped working...
So, no, for casual users its not a problem. For content creators filming for an hour or more, it might be tho.
Anyways, Id rather have the UI inform me that the cam could make a frame skipped video due to heatup, than not inform me at all and keep recording, or have a recording time limit due to same issue, like on some other devices, just to dissapoint me in the end while watching frame skipped stuttering video it made.
