The only deal breaker is the charging anxiety in 2022. I don't need that slow tortoise charging of about 2Hrs to fully charge from 0-100% when on average others do it in about 30min

Battery life and cameras are not the main issues here. The biggest hindrance to gaining market share is pricing. If Google really hopes to sell twice as much phones this year and next, then the penetration price for this phone should be $699 or lower. For $799 the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a much better buy. The non-Pro model is better priced.

Can you please re-check your battery tests?
The G2 chipset is more efficient than last years Tensor and Google specifically made mention of improved efficiency ans battery life as well. The battery is the same size and the screen is similar yet you have the phone scoring worse on battery than the original Pixel 6 Pro.

- Poor standby time
- Average browsing/video playback for a LTPO screen
- Some night photos have watercolour
- Video bitrates are lower than necessary
- Selfie is bad
- Exynos barely on pair with SD888.
At least for some demanding tasks like video editing, it is faster than samsung. But who isn't ? Even phones with 865 are.

Too bad, Google tries to be 2nd Apple to do their own chip, but the chip is not capable in terms of performance and battery life comparing to Qualcomm chip. Most of performance test showed 20-30% slower than the latest Qualcomm chip. It will be hard to sell these phones at the original list price. 20% slower performance probably will have to sell it at 30-40% lower price than the ones from competitors because people are willing to pay extra premium for the last additional 5-10% performance.

I'm probably among many of those checking this review just for the battery life. It's a Google phone ao I wasn't expecting it to be great. But it's worst than what I expected.
Let's see the battery tests results of Pixel 7 but I think I will end up buying a Zenfone 9.
I love Pixel 7 camera, I'm a fan. But a Pixel phone has way too many compromises. On my book, Google did merits to be crowned the worst smartphone manufacturer.

It's a pity that even with 3rd party apps, you can't save raw files with manual settings (apart from the 2.4 micrometer main camera mode).

I have noticed that the short Night Sight mode can sometimes misalign frames, then the results will be worse than in the long Night Sight mode and also worse than in the normal mode. This happened often when I took photos of text with the short Night Sight mode.

I think I'd be happier with the 6a, with its smaller dimensions, superior battery life and much lower price. That said, my 4a 5G is still going strong.
