uk7866, 08 Feb 20231080p display and 8GB ram, awful at this price!Where do you need more than 8GB ram for? Unless you're a heavy gamer, 8GB is sufficient. It's not a PC that really needs ram memory. A smartphone does not need a truckload of ram like a PC does. It needs some ram, but last years the trend is to compare it with PCs and the smartphone industry has really convinced average Joe to want more ram so they pay more for it.

These pre-installed junk consumes noticeable power in background.

Thats why I've disabled most of pre-installed apps as much as i can & apps that i don't use or rarely use,I've placed them into deep sleep.

Using phone in Power saving mode, this gives me around 15-20% improvement in SOT.

So basically with these small tricks you can get upto 6-6.5 hours SOT easily depending on your usage.

Anonymous, 09 Feb 2023Do S23 telephoto lens support OIS, there's no mention ... moreS23 is downgrade from S22.
S22 has OIS for telephoto lens. S23 does not.
      Check S23 specifications on Gsmarena

              "And a more beautiful design"
lolwut? Literally looks like Samsung's budget line. The camera island on the S21/22 was unique and eye-catching. This redesign is generic and cheap-looking.

What's wrong with people???? Acting like this is the worst phone ever, the worst display, the worst camera, the worst battery etc.
S23 isn't bad at all, it's literally a perfect little device. The price is ridiculously high but again, the price will drop eventually.

I'm so happy to see Samsung have finally taken the speakers more seriously this time. They've gone from one of the weakest aspects to one of the strongest! I'm interested to see how it compares to the Ultra. Usually the larger phones have a bit better performance.

                          As Galaxy S22 user.
I can say its near perfect phone.Everyrhing works smoothly except battery life.actually its not that bad as expected from 3700mAh phone but still noticeably lower. With power saving mode you can expect 6.30-7 hours SOT.
Cameras are really good only thing i didn't like was smearing of fine details on 1:1 magnification.
8G1 is very fast & with OneUI 5,not phone doesn't heat that much.
Display is good & bright,Speakers are moderately loud with pleasing sound quality.
Small size is very handy & lightweight also.
OneUI is good but the huge number of pre-installed apps for everything is annoying.Samsung really needs to decrease pre-installed bloatware/apps or atleast give option to untick those while setup.

So even if S23 only improves on battery life than its actually solves biggest problem with S22.
Now S23 is literally best compact android phone you can get.

But since S22 is available for good discounts than S23 doesn't make a strong case for itself.
Yes S23 is equally good/better but paying a hafty amount for 10% better battery is too much i think.but if you are not bothered about S23's higher price & don't want to compromise on anything then S23 is good to go.

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2023Why in earth would one buy this instead of an iPhone 14 ? N... morelet me give you some reasons why Samsung is a better deal:
Latest chip, Better cameras, Android, Freedom, Fortnite, sideloading apps, third part stores, free bluetooth and NFC, DEX, USB C with OTG, better refresh rate on screen, cheaper with discounts, etc. Should I continue?

Its good for its target audience(compact)but as with Samsung flagships, too expensive day one.

Ads are targeted, why are you seeing those particular ads?
I don't need Samsung to install that trash, I don't need them to scatter their childish icons over 3 separate home screens by default and I won't buy anything from them until they stop it.

Omg, 09 Feb 2023Other skins are equally as "cartoonish" as One UI... moreI do because nobody needs Samsung to duplicate Google features.
Ads are normally targeted these days, if you're seeing p@rn then I know what you were doing last night.
Most phones are not that cartoonish, it's also far less noticeable because they don't have around 20 first party apps and don't, by default, spread them over 3 separate home screens.
I have an OPPO, it has about 3 or 4 non-installable OPPO apps (1 of which is the camera) and almost nothing that is forcibly baked in to the OS and running in the background unlike Bixby et al.
And don't tell me I can debloat or that you love this and that Samsung crapware, it's my phone and I don't want it spoilt by resource hogging duplicate trash.
Decent hardware. Trash software as always.

Even if a phone is the smallest in its category, it can no longer be considered small at a certain point, objectively speaking. At that point, it can't be compact either.

" To put it into simpler terms, once the feature is enabled, plugging in a charger into the phone will bypass charging of the battery and directly provide power to the processor, unless the phone has a 20% charge or lower."

You cant use it if battery is equal or below 20%. While xperia can use with any %, also for other apps not just games.

Copied the sensor with DRAM but did not take advantage of its capabilities.
Copied it 960fps, but with lower quality and zero control over it.
Copied the "stop charging after 80% to preserve battery".
Copied the "decrease charging speed to finish only when user wakes up".
Created second photo app with more controls, still lack tons of stuff compared to xperia photo pro.

Since samsung likes to copy xperia so much, should have use periscope with zoom lens as well. Since k zoom was last galaxy to have optical zoom.
