Anonymous, 26 Oct 20238 Pro scores 90h with 5050mAh.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Go crappynos You should also add that is significantly better than 7 Pro and 6 Pro, especially in web browsing. Probably mainly thanks to screen which spends 2x less power than 7 Pro with the same brightness.
Still, Google should put more effort on it. I don't think they will give up Exynos next year, but hopefully Tensor G4 will be made on a basis of Exynos 2400 and it will be more power-efficient.

Wow a Xiaomi spanks the great Pixel 8 in every benchmark test. The Tensor G3 falls further back from the competition.

Does GSM have to relook at their battery scoring? Alot of emphasis is placed on talk time and less on browsing and video watching which is what the bulk of users actually use their phones for. The pixel 8 has better browsing and video times but because call times are worse it gets a far lower score than the 7? Is it the modem chip they use?

Hey GSMArena
Why no mention of the throttling on the cons section is the summary.
See you mention this with other brands that had less throttle

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2023So weird, the 7pro has the same battery rating at 83hrs yet... moreIf battery life on the go matters, any Pixel 6-8 really doesn't cut it. On wifi Pixel 8 (Pro) seems to be good (not great, but not far off from what is possible due to really efficient display).
BTW - I'm on a spyware Vivos X90pro+ but will trade for something else because battery life on the go is horrible - not due to hardware which is okay (not great, because chinese modem instead of X70) but their spyware (com.vivo.pushservices) absolutely drains the phone when any data transmitted - 0% drain only with bluetooth off (so smartwatch disconnected) and wifi/modem off. Any of the 3 on spyware goes crazy. All 3 on - about as bad as Pixel 8 (pro) even with superior hardware.

Topofan, 26 Oct 2023People need to understand that it's not mainly the SOC... moreSo weird, the 7pro has the same battery rating at 83hrs yet several high profile reviewers/ online reviews called it their phone of the year in 22.. bizarre right??? And the ones that didn't have it on the top of their lists it was certainly in their top 5.. how? With such terrible battery life and performance... Seriously?
You number Geeeks keep doing your thing, whatever that is lol
Enjoy the phone you have, or apparently not.

After a week of Pixel 8 I decided to switch back to my old Samsung Note 9.
Wanted to upgrade for the 7 years of security updates, decided to lower my standards and give this a try. Got bummed out by the user experience I had to make.
Unless you like the strange restrictions (for example the "at a glance" widget and the bottom searchbar which are not moveable or replaceable) in the UI you basically have to use a custom launcher.
Fingerprint scanner? With the same finger registered 3 times you get a recognition in like 50-60% of times you try to unlock you phone. And that's without using a screen protector.
The capacitiv scanner on the Note 9 only fails, if I touch it with wet fingers.
Also if you are concerned, that you might be missing og features like sd-slot and headphone jack, you have to think twice before buying anything without them, because there literally is no alternative that will work as reliably.
Battery on my 5 year old Note 9 seems to be on par with the Pixel 8 both won't really last me more than a single day.
I know this is my subjective conclusion and not based on stats, but I figured others may feel the same and might appreciate a little review.

People need to understand that it's not mainly the SOC responsible for the horrible battery life. It's mainly the modem.
S23 series and Sony 8gen2 trump the rest of the android world on 8gen2 because they went with qualcom x70 Modem unlike Xiaomi and BBK that went 8gen2 but then put cheap Chinese modems in, however those cheap ones while clearly inferior to qualcom x70 are still way ahead of the tensor Samsung modem. iPhone has qualcom modem and for good reason they never went to their own one even though developed for years now.
Tensor seems okay at low load. With a decent modem it would be fine even running crappynos - except for gamers.
Pixel has good battery life when you have WiFi (that usually means you have a electricity plug nearby too).
When it actually matters Pixel has poorest battery life as outdoors it falters.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2023There's no such a thing as battery settling. Instead, ... moreYou clearly haven't used any current ish phones have you? My a52s, the galaxy s20 fe that replaced and the pixel 7 pro that replaced that all took several weeks for their batteries to improve, yes notably improve.
Thats the other thing, my 7pro I genuinely think is on bar battery wise with the s20 fe .. the s20 fe has a rating of 110hrs, the 7 pro 83hrs.. go figure??
Maybe use them before hand hey

Instead, any battery gets the more it's used from day one and Pixel isn't any different. Those reviewers haven't performed any experiment to test battery life unlike GSMArena. Just admit tensynos is a failure

Well in my country I got the P8 with a discount for extending my contract which came down to 696 euros and I will sell the buds for 100+ so the phone will cost me less than 600euros which is still a bargain in my eyes.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2023Battery life should be at least 110 hoursThese reviews don't tell the whole story, most phones and probably pixels more so take 2-3 weeks and longer for their batteries to really settle and improve.. literally everybody's said the new 8 has a bump in battery life, the unboxing preview was what only a week ago.. so somethings off or these guys are pumping out results too early
