No subwoofer, lower battery life, no more accessories, punchhole camera, eliminated the awesome speakers that were this phone's trademark... they've killed this phone. For what? Why?

Crazy how you give a 4.6 to a phone that will only get one software update, if that even. Obsolete from launch, and you call this Premium?

Coming from ROG2 with the motherboard fiasco
Then trying the ROG5s with touch screen sensitivity issues, OS poor optimization that drains the huge batt, to OS updates that brick your phone and to non existent support on the forums....never again

funny how these reviews present the device as working flawlessly yet the forums are full of users complaining. for example my rog 6 bought new doesn't even want to register a fingerprint thats how bad the sensor is. and i'm not the only one. but u'll never see these in these snorting "reviews". disgusting.

The ROG 7 16GB RAM 512GB version, which can be found for less than $800 new, is so much more worth it compared to this new "upgrade". Thanks Asus for ruining your own product line.

Also did Asus just abandon their Kunai gamepad? It wasn't included with the ROG 7. I know the Aero cooler has those rear buttons but I prefer to have honest-to-god analog sticks on both sides. Or maybe Asus expects us to use that flimsy phone clip with an Xbox controller... It's so uncomfortable with a heavy phone like this.😓

looks like asus wants to push this phone more to mainstream, comparing its predecessor.
hope it stays close to the gaming community...

This phone is better positioned in the market then any other Asus phone by far. This time,Asus is looking fairly desirable!

They have managed to shave off 9mm in height and 0.2mm in width to make it more main stream!!
and the phone has lost out on
                      battery capacity
                      uninterrupted screen
                      front facing speakers
                      sustained performance
                      cool/unique looks

                      worth it?

I just want to ask, what's the point of you guys reviewing a gaming phone without explicitly telling us what's the actual experience of playing games in demanding games with highest settings, it's sustained performance, the experience and all that? Synthetic benchmark can only tell so much 🤦

How are those photos good for 1.1k$ phone? Did you see those colors on ultrawide shots at night? Or a contrast on most of the shots (other then on zoom). I mean, both telephoto and uw modules are usually sin in the front of the phone, and uw camare was use as primary in dirt cheap A03s back in 2022 wtf

Anonymous, 17 Jan 2024And power hungry. Gen 2 was their only good flagship SoC.Wut? This phone deliviers the same gaming time as the previous version even though it has a smaller battery.

As I suspected: worse battery, degraded speakers, no notification diode, average xiaomish look. No buy for me, I'd rather look for 7 version.

Rkm, 16 Jan 2024They tried to cater to the s23 / ultra audiences, didn'... moreI'm of the S Ultra crowd, and I'm actually considering this phone. It's basically almost a Samsung now, but with air triggers, side charge port, 3.5 headphones jack, proper charger in the box (I can't believe this is considered a pro point, what have we become?) and faster charging than the Samsung. Even IP68. What's not to like?

If only they wouldn't price it that high they would have easily nabbed me by now. As it is, I'm mainly waiting to see what Samsung brings to the table in a few hours before I make a decision.
