Moto has build a solid device this time around with the 50 Pro, the camera, the battery department are even better than Galaxy S24 Ultra or the iPhone 15.

      Latin America is dominated by phones that cost $450 at most.
      Devices like A14, A32, G53, G54, G23.
      People do not buy new phones as often as citizens in USA/Europe/China.


      China and Taiwan are only places outside group called " developed world" where Apple is revelant.

                  Here in Serbia 12/512 version with 135W bundled charger is 600e, so 100e less than starting price in EU.
                  So everything depends on the price, for 600e its good deal.

                    The SoC performance difference between this phone and last year's Edge 40 Pro is hard to judge since they aren't using the same Snapdragon family tier. I considered comparing it against the Xiaomi Poco F5, but the benchmark scores on the latter have all gone outdated. I'll wait for the Edge 50 Ultra full review to be published since it's using the same Snapdragon 8 family tier as the Edge 40 Pro.

                      I don't like the camera samples, pictures are like oil paintings.

                          If a phone with a 4500mah and 5500mah last similarity long due to chipset efficiency, the 4500mah phone will win in a year in battery life as it ages much slower, because the chipset isn't damaging the battery as much from it's heat.

                          I still have a 2006 sony Ericsson, it's battery capacity is still around 70% after 18 Years, just because the phone doesn't heat up.

                          My 2012 Sony Xperia is also still at around 90%, meanwhile the 2012 Galaxy S3 after 30 Minutes: Dead.


                          For that reason I give the most weight when buying a phone to it's chipset efficiency and how much it heats. An 20000mah cell will still be dead in 5 Years if the thing has an 8gen1 (not+) inside.

Their UI is stock with plenty of useful features and customization options. Most boring designs? They are the only company which is trying to do something different as opposed everyone else doing the same old boring glass and metal sandwiches (looking at you, Samesung and Apple). Pricing I guess depends more on the market, but at least here in India their prices are far more competitive than Samsung.

Unlike Nokia, Motorola still exists and has been doing well recently. Sure, they don't have anything to compete with Samsung's and Apple's overpriced flagship phones, but they are not targeting that market. Motorola has been all about the midrange market and they've been doing exceptionally well there. And in that market, Motorola completely destroys Samsung.

The only setting I change is to enable AWB. Colours are slightly too contrasty with it enabled, but they're washed out with it disabled. The quality is good, though due to the colours, I prefer photos taken with my Pixel 6a.
