Hmm... A fantastic phone that in my opinion could've been better with a more consistent performing chipset like 9300 or so. Never thought I'd see Snapdragon go so average in throttling and heat.
But its good.
However it won't be sold in all countries, or even my country, so... yeah, I'll keep dreaming to replace my G8x with this.

    Just check the latest article, about upcoming motorola flip phones.
    Both to have 22:9 screen, but not a single comment to complain about nor call it tv control.

    Hate against 21:9 is not about the ratio, it was about who was using.
    Motorola has had 21:9 before, meizu/polestar is 21:9, samsung Z fold external screen is 22:9.

      Anonymous, 18 May 20241440p isn't too much it's like looking at 4k on a... moreActually hi resolution is ok, but using 4K on the phone is basically useless, I used to have xperia with 4K screen, I only found it good when using camera, but even that was crippled by low brightness. So bad 4K is worse than good FHD, under bright sun, for battery etc.
      As you all can see, sony is killing it with battery endurance, I would guess also thanks to FHD screen.

                Cameras feel a lot like samsung S21Ultra, though not as wide with 16mm vs 13mm, 7x zoom vs 10x one, but you will get good 12mp raw output and range with hi res mode on main camera - the same as s21u.
                With S25U coming, rumors about 3 or 4x50mp with hi res hdr raw, 6.9", 7x zoom, auto eND filter, thats something to worry about for sony who should be leading as they do with alpha cameras in full frame photography world.
                I think that bringing better hw for main feature - cameras, what are phones mostly about, shouldn't be so hard, when even they got their own sony sensors. Small tele 1/3.5'' sensor or uneven resolution on phone cameras is quite bad.
                Wish they will bring something leading instead like full spectrum photography etc. that no one got, not just repeating features others come with.

                        Funny how some say it should be at most €1000.
                        When this price is what you pay for crap Huawei P70 that is worse than mark 2.

                          besides, a mobile phone has to be "handy" at the same time, contain more info at a glance and has to comply to "contents"... 🤔

                            A phone really ought to have an aspect ratio of that of a standard sheet of paper. Anything else feels unnatural.

                              i have the lg v50s, with fhd+, but with 6.4 display...
                              and it is really noticeably less sharp especially when viewing photos, watching and recording videos...

                              now, i wonder, if those people who nitpicked 21:9 and said they'd buy it if not only of the "tall" aspect ratio would eventually buy it...
                              maybe if sony finds out that it was a "fake" consumer demand, they'd bring back 21:9 in the future... maybe the 8th or 9th gen of xperia 1... i am hoping for that...

I have not been able to find any that I liked as much. It is the type of phone you use, not one you admire. You just use it as a tool.

As I've said, I was disappointed because it isn't available in the U.S., it's too pricey and it's still too narrow for what I like but that is indeed the aspect ratio. It was announced by Sony. People have seen it in person.
