Anonymous, 01 Sep 2024It's also why I don't recommend Galaxy A55. 19.5:... moreI don't think the A55 is uncomfortable but it isn't comfortable either. But yeah 20:9 would've been perfect for that phone!
And yes I agree Samsung are trying too hard to copy Apple now.

BillyOcean, 01 Sep 2024It's hilarious when I read about 5 years of updates. A... moreI do use my phones for couple of years. Usually change the battery 1 or 2 times. Don't see why I should upgrade every 12-18 months when everything is fine with my phone. Although I'm interested in technological and software development (computer engineering was part of my studies), I don't feel the need to own the newest device. I check reviews, read articles, watch videos and sometimes visit tech stores. 2 years ago I got a Samsung galaxy Fold as a birthday gift. Had it just for 24h then returned it since I didn't need a new phone.

jiyen235, 01 Sep 2024have you tried a 20:9 big screen phone? I use an S22 Ultra ... moreExactly, 19.5:9 ratio big phones are very uncomfortable to hold. For a big phone only 20:9 is the way to go and for a small phone the remaining ratios

It's hilarious when I read about 5 years of updates. Anybody that frequents this website isn't using the same phone for 5 years. That's a fact. If your like me, you get a new phone every 12-18 months. What people should be focusing on is how great Motorola has been the last couple of years. In the $300-500 phone range, Moto is making the best phones with the cleanest Android experience on the market. I currently have a Thinkphone and I dare anyone to find a better phone under $400.

Why are no websites mentioning the fact that the Neo is the only member of the Edge series with a FLAT display?
I think that alone would sell thousands of units.

Roter Drache, 30 Aug 20245.5" with a 20:9 aspect ratio? The screen would be too... morehave you tried a 20:9 big screen phone? I use an S22 Ultra and it's uncomfortable compared to a 20:9 phone.
18.5:9 was great back in the day when the phones were smaller, a 6.2" 18.5:9 phone like the S8+ was nice to hold. But as they got bigger the size had to be accounted for with taller screens.
Apple and Samsung phones are supremely uncomfy compared to others, for me. I tried an S20+ after using my S22 Ultra and that phone felt COMPACT.
My point is, 20:9 is the sweet spot for 6.2-7 inch phones. For smaller phones 19.5:9 and wider can be used but 20:9 is a must for larger phones. I tried a Pixel 7, Oneplus 8, S20+, S20 FE, iPhone 11 Pro, 13 Pro, 13, 15 Plus, etc. and I have an idea of what works and what doesn't. At least for me, and everyone I've talked to irl, wider larger phones are uncomfortable whereas taller larger phoens are perfectly fine, smaller phones aren't bothersome since they're small and their width is usable.
