Edd, 30 Nov 2024Seems that all the comments here know better than Samsung. ... moreTrue. If Samsung hired gsmarena commenters, they wouldn't dare sell 2gb/32gb ram/emmc phones and tablets back on 2021. Pathetic company hiding behind brand name.

Darth Caesium, 29 Nov 2024How to fix this device: •Give it a real proximity sensor ... moreAgree, 6GB should be the bare minimum of any phones nowadays, no matter the price. They can cut the costs elsewhere (like the OS updates for the example, doubt that G99 can run Android 20), but LPDDR4X are getting cheaper nowadays.

Anonymous, 29 Nov 2024Did the A15 not have 4 OS updates? It has 4 OS updates.

Perhaps Samsung should hire these people.

though my redmi phone w/ helio G99 feels just as smooth (if not smoother) than my dad's samsung w/ dimensity 1080. So I think it's samsung's problem.

maybe the 6GB/8GB variants will have some form of video stabilization...

This piece of junk with 8/256 memory costs the same as the Galaxy A34 in my country. What a joke.

Yes, the A34 is over a year old and it has less updates than the A16, but you get all these good stuff:

                                  - 5G
                                  - IP67
                                  - 120Hz display
                                  - Thinner bottom bezel
                                  - Gorilla Glass 5
                                  - Dimensity 1080
                                  - Better cameras
                                  - Stereo speakers
                                  - Hardware gyroscope
                                  - Better battery life

Do yourself a favor and just get the A34 instead. Samsung's low-end stuff are not worth your money.

Anonymous, 29 Nov 2024Did the A15 not have 4 OS updates?4 or 6 OS updates really dont matter bcos users of the A16 and A16 5G would be lucky if their phones still usable after 2 OS updates. Usable as in not lagging and stuttering when doing something as simple as browsing.

MakeMotoBetterAgain, 30 Nov 2024this phone will lose cellular service in a couple years as ... moreWhile 4G technology is being gradually replaced by 5G, it's not expected to be completely shut down anytime soon. Here's why:
Gradual Transition: The shift from 4G to 5G is happening gradually. Carriers are expanding their 5G networks, but 4G will remain operational for many years to come.
IoT and Other Applications: 4G is well-suited for many Internet of Things (IoT) devices and other applications that don't require the high speeds and low latency of 5G.
                                        * Cost-Effectiveness: 4G networks are more cost-effective to maintain than 5G networks, especially in areas with lower population density.
                                        Estimated Timeline:
                                        * Developed Countries: While some carriers might start phasing out 4G in certain areas by the late 2020s or early 2030s, it's unlikely to be completely shut down before 2035.
Developing Countries: 4G will likely remain the dominant technology for many years, especially in rural and less developed areas.
In conclusion, while 4G is gradually being replaced by 5G, it will continue to be a valuable technology for many years to come.
