This device shows that today's advanced feature devices can equal those running a smartphone o.s. unless you're going to be running third party apps you might prefer the stability and multimedia all-in-one feature set that this superb device provides.

Hi I have been using my first Samsung phone.. the Jet S8003 for over a month now..By and large my experience has been on the positive side. Great UI, Brilliant screen, touch screen very responsive.
My pet peeve... Battery life sucks!! It really does. I just get a days use of phone, video, music etc.. and have to charge everyday.
Another thing, can anybody suggest how to record telephone conversations in the Jet...if at all
Thanks

icecream69, 28 Aug 2009Can any one tell me what all i can't do on Samsung Jet but ... moreif you got the Jet, you´d have a better, but smaller screen...16m colours against 65k of the omniaII (limited because of the WMOBILE). In Omnia you can install much more apps, again WM, smart phones advantage. Jet seems to be faster, only touch wiz running. Omnia is a WM phone with samsung´s touch wiz "make up", much more expensive.
I would prefer Jet cause it has some cool features for less. On the other hand you can install more features on the omnia.
One thing I didn´t like the jet, is the lack of a gps software. I know i can install route 66, but only route 66 and its only 1 year subscription for the voice guidance. If were like as long as I use it it would be perfect for me. Omnia you have more softwares available.
You better check some videos out before on you tube.

Well I've had my Jet for 5 days now. Before getting it, I read and read and READ on the net, looking for info. Feedback seemed predominantly positive - but not perfect.. Anyway, I really wanted an iPhone, but didn't want to change providers and pay the high monthly fees. Important for me was to have a good quality phone for texting, with a good camera, and combined with an mp3 player. I wavered some about getting a real smartphone(Omnia II), but decided in the end I just don't need it(also worried it might be slower than the Jet..) I need more a "fun" phone.. But I want it to be good.
Anyway, I would give the Jet 3.5 stars out of 5 at this point. The camera is OK, but could be better. The UI is also just OK, but could be better. Scrolling through icons or fotos hangs sometimes. Though on the plus side it is fairly fast. Texting is good - even with one hand. The text recognition feature where you write with your finger was a nice surprise - works well. the mp3 player is fine. I find navigating withing the phone sometimes a bit perplexing(often hard to figure out how to delete things..) - but I guess this will improve with more use. Battery life is the biggest minus IMO. With an average amount of playing, listening to music, taking photos, etc.., I get two days per charge. If the phone got 4-5 days I would rate it higher.
Overall the phone is pretty decent, but I would say it has just kind of met my (unsure)expectations, and not surpassed them. I do like the style of it, it fits well in my hand and pocket, and just looks good. The camera is average. Same with the user interface - the UI seems to hang sometimes. The battery life is poor. Verdict - a good phone, but not a great phone.

Feature needed: "Recording a Phone Conversation during a call"
Im not sure if this is available on 8000Jet and on M7600 Beat DJ, but something convenient and best have is voice recording during a phone call...! most of the time i do Sales thru the phone, and normally i recorder all necessary conversation... So does this phone have this feature? The Moto RoRk E6 is good at it, only 2 taps and recording!!!

blahblahblah, 20 Aug 2009hey i just purchased a samsung s8000 jet and its amazing. N... moreYeap, the blue coloured "E" means that u ve been browsing too many sites and ve been opting out the internet eventually. It takes a few seconds or so for the icon to disappear. Once the icon disappears you can once start browsing in full swing. But if you browse while the icon is there then it keeps you in wait and never loads on. Therefore its better that you wait for the icon to disappear. Well,i have a QUESTION. I heard that samsung batteries are not good enough. Is it true?
