st2st, 22 Oct 2009For real, Satio should be compared with i8910 Omnia HD. The... moreBut they are of the different category obviously noticing that Omnia is using a Windows mobile OS. So comparing the two is really a no no. Well, AMOLED is not really reliable in every situation, so it's not as versatile as the TFT. The visibility under brightly lit condition is poor so it should not scare any phone using a TFT screen. It's not ground breaking as well.

To GSMarena Team:
Nice review but there are issues that I don't quite get it.
If "resolved detail" has something to do with "lens quality" which Pixon12 has an edge over Satio with better edge-to-edge sharpness then how come the result is a TIE? If you don't wish to talk again about how good Pixon is fearing being called biased, fine don't write. But Pixon12 deserved that point. It's NOT A TIE.
Again in Macro test you did shy away from giving Pixon12 it's point because you already did so in Resolved Detail section. If Pixon12 has better resolved detail then it got to get those points as well. What are you afraid of? Just because Satio didn't get a point so lets not give Pixon it's points too? Seems you are playing balancing game here.
No doubt both are good camera phones, the margin is pretty narrow, but It seemed at some point that you have avoided being too critical to SE. We are talking about it's imaging capability, not the phone overall. When compared as phone they are not in the same league. SE took sweet 9 months to deliver it's baby but still couldn't fix much from what I have seen in it's prototype. They had all the time to deliver that. Now SE fans will say an "Update" will make it Superior.

For real, Satio should be compared with i8910 Omnia HD. Their interface, screen, perfomance, audio, and camera modules. That comprasion would be a total disaster for Satio, TFT resistive vs. AMOLED capacitive, 1000 vs 1500 battery, 128 mb internal memory vs 8 GB! And Omnia's 8 mp camera may be a bit worse in photo, but outperforms Satio totally in video recording. And for last, compare their prices...

SE fans are so brainwashed. They keep saying they're buying SE phones 'coz it's SE. WTF is that?! SE may have been the leader on image quality and sound quality three years ago but not today. Cybershot and Walkman are just mere branding. Samsung and LG (plus apple) have been producing phones with better image and audio for years. A lot of cybershot models have excessive image processing to hide the poor image quality and a lot of Walkman models have exaggerated bass to make it sound stronger than it really is.

daniel, 22 Oct 2009duhhh... samsung camcorders and camera have a weak reviews ... moreTry to read the reviews for Sony Ericsson again you will know that GSMarena has always been disappointed with Sony Ericson's poor video quality. SE has been suffering from having low resolution videos for quite a long time(years)now .

All my previous phones were Nokia.... But im really impressed by the Satio. Seems like a really excellent phone. I should consider selling my current phone to get this when it comes out.I hope the price is good.

duhhh... samsung camcorders and camera have a weak reviews from cnet, and everyone of them has a part when they say that video/image quality is bad, while sony camera and camcorders, most of them have a very good reviews in cnet, meaning that se can beat samsung, IF they will use sony's new technology and lenses, like the carl zeiss, exmor, steadyshot etc.

both phones are great with pixon having little more functions then satio , , but as a complete phone satio is better since its a smart phone.
i can see that both phones are struggling to get things right to the level that we can say that they are cameras to replace the normal digital camera.
in 2 years time these minor issues for the immage quality would be wiped out and a new level of assessment will be introduced.
as for now this is the best we can get from both worlds and if you noticed samsung have gone a step further in introducing the optical lense camera phone .. this shows that still the method that is used in pixon 12 and satio is far behind
on the other hand to have a good photography you need a good lense , a big and good sensor and dedicated camera electronics , and all thses features mentioned are not in both phones .
i believe that both companies can produce excellent camera phones if they forget about the amount of money that will cost to put it on the shelves ,, all these technological sacrifices are for the price reducing the mobile cost in order to be affordable to the normal public
as the new sony ericsson director mentioned that the new policy of the company is concentrate on high end phones and have smaller portofolio with better and quality product , , the man believes in quality and not quantity ,,
lets hope in 1 or 2 years time we shall have proper camera phones in order to be as a standard and not as a luxury as it is now

If you're just after for a great cam then the Pixon is for you. But If you want an all-rounder, then Satio is the way to go. Plus (and I just can't believe it) that Satio has a better video quality.
Yup, that's what you get with the wide angel lens..a second rate video quality infuse with an AMR audio. LOL!

Not reliable samsung specs..Commercially advertise 28mm lens where in fact its just 30mm lens..You will enjoy your samsung phone only for maybe half year maximum but once its housing gets faded you will regret for buying such samsung phones..Innov8 and original Pixon's housing gets easily faded..

Some commenter says Pixon12 doesn't have a lens cover but the picture shows that it has an automatic retracting lens cover like those seen in digital cameras. Are there two version of Pixon12?
