I read previous comments. I have a feeling most of them were sent by SE PR team :) Most of them insists sound quality is very good without even touching X10, somehow... Anyways, I decided to buy Samsung i9000 Galaxy S when it will be on sale. I believe it will be cheaper than X10 which is 770 USD now.

I think something must be wrong with the audio testing. It has to be a pre-release version or something. I work with sound and audio and that audio quality on the test in disturbingly close to analog, not even stereo.
I don't believ for a second that a you can make that bad audio quality since 2004 on a digital device even if you tried on purpose.
As i said before, this has to be som kinda of faulty or pre-release version.

They say that there's no videocall camera. But seeing the white X10, I see the ambient light sensor on the left of the earpiece and the status LED light on the right. So what is this (big) black dot inbetween the earpice and the status LED light?? It definetly looks like a videocall cam!!!

The UI is lively and fluid, and looks quite attractive too.

Hey there...
Is this really an in-depth reaview??
There are no comments on the battery strength, the stereo speakers or the speed of the UI!!! What about them??
And one more thing, is there a digital compass or not? It is not in the features list, but it was mentioned in the GPS part of the review...

Sony Ericsson better get themselves sorted out with there current mobiles,as they always seem to let there phones down lately with the Audio an Speakers on there mobiles an if there phones are not sticking to there true value loads with start looking elsewere, they are dropping down quickly in the mobile market an its there fault as the Quality of there mobiles are way below par,C905 an C902 really shows the company up,so something better change soon or the might end up going bust or splitting up

Frankly speaking, what's with all the anti-SE or pro-SE comments? This is just a review of one of the latest android phone. Do we really need all the "THIS IS OUTDATED", "SAMSUNG THE BEST", "YOU CAN'T BEAT THIS PHONE"....etc??? If this phone is really that bad, why even bother looking at the review and comment? If you really like and support a certain mobile phone company/model. Might as well leave your comments there? By the way, I am getting this phone, though there are better phones out there. Just a personal preference. Just my 2 cents worth.

oh and for all those AMOLED whiners.. TFT is not a drawback here!
i'd stick with this unit over nexus one's AMOLED, thanky you.
"the sunlight legibility is in fact the same as in the iphone 3GS"
While most of AMOLED screens have POOR outdoor capabilities.
So, in a sum up:
When this receives a newer android updates, it WILL have 16M colors, multitouch, and with a greater camera and larger screen, media and time scape, will left devices such as desire, droid or nexus one behind.
XPERIA X10 is awesome and promising device with great potential!

Gsmarena check you testing gear! Every other review i've read is praising the sound quality of X10!
Like before when you got the bad W980 results, and the same device won the BEST AUDIO EXPERIENCE recognition by the referent test factory institute! No way SE would give X10 bad sound quality

so, among these following "drawbacks" cited in the review
- No DivX and XviD video playback
- No smart and voice dialing
- No free GPS navigation solution
- No Flash support for the web browser
I guess all of them can be resolved by installing 3rd party softwares or via OS update, am I right?
