I purchased Galaxy 3 model mobile; month ago and it worked properly for just 2 days and then display was lost.
Approached service center for serving; the samsung service facility is awesome. The mobile is sleeping in the service center for last 15 days; they are still saying; it will take 1 more week. :( I don't they are manufacting new mobile or fixing the problem.
Friends!!! Before purchasing samsung mobile; kindly inquire about service facitily/support.
Be alert b4 buying Galaxy mobiles.

Hi Guys, I have been using this phone from last 2 months.
For 12k INR, its value for money.
You could install apps for free.
I used torrent and downloaded zip file containing 100's of android apps.
Battery isnt much of an issue. im getting about 3 days.
and it charges via USB.
I *NEVER* faced any call drop issues. No idea what some guys are talking about.
only problem i felt is that "call" and "contact" option takes a while to load. I installed "advanced task killer" and it seems better now.
afterall, its not a phone, but a computer with an OS. so opening a lot of applications is making it slow.
Screen resolution isnt much of a problem. But compared to INR 17k Samsung wave, it poor.
I could not connect to android home or android market through google sign-in. Tried 3G, Wifi and GPRS, but failed.
So installing apps that way didnt work for me.
I would recommend this phone to all those who wants a good OS in their phone and want to play around installing lots of apps.

Im pretty interested abt this phone inspite of the battery issues,low res that ppl are complaining abt. But whats up with the call drops! I request gsmareana to investigate this issue

Hey everyone I've been using this phone on docomo sim and its working like a breeze. There are no call drop issues. music quality is so awesome n it's 3 mp camera deliver better pics than .nokias 5 mp phones.
it's user interface is very much similar to galaxy s.
If you have heard somewhere that it's screen has low pixel density then don't worry they must be saying it by comparing it with high end phones.
And I know you cant expect a 12 k phone to behave like an iphone or a nexus one
battery backup is awesome compared to other smart phones.
I am getting 3 days easy backup after using it for 10 calls n frequent messaging.

I have had my hands on Galaxy 3 and the phone is pretty good. However, Android 2.1 lacks lot of basic features, oneo f the example being that it installs all applications on internal storage. On samsung 3, internal storage is 130 mb thuss limiting applications you can install to around 50-100. And I consider it the biggest drawback.
Also, contrary to what is stated on the website, Samsung has not promised to come out with Android 2.2 update and thats why I give thumbs down to this cell as I am not happy with Android 2.1.

At first I also thought it is due to network problem. We have to dial the number many times to get connected. Similarly the incoming call drops with in 4-5 seconds. I am terribly disappointed with this. Otherwise the phone is great. Seems that most of the users were facing the call drop issue. This happens when data service is ON. When a call comes, the network suddenly vanishes and call drops. How can we solve this? Is there any samsung comments on this? Will this be solved by a firmware update??

I was pretty excited while buying this phone myself last month. First reason, breaking away from NOKIA sloppy devices and service, Second was that this seemed like a perfect package at a great price.
But the phone is useless, frikin call drops are so frequent(almost 20-30 times in a row) that everybody that I have tried to communicate using this phone have started hating SAMSUNG now.
I have been instructed to change the SIM card, got myself a new SIM from airtel. But it does not work.
Going to the Samsung customer care tomorrow for the last time. If the problem still persists, It would be an emotional breakdown.
Planning to setup a site and promote it heavily on internet search engines to make sure that no one else gets trapped in this worthless piece of plastic anymore.
Hope I am lucky this time.

Very nice phone. Bought it a week ago and I'm loving it. Swype feature for text input just rocks. Its accuracy is pretty good too.. Currently using tata docomo gprs through apps and opera mini browser which is working fantastically... App market has a few good offerings. Phone gets a little slow if too many apps are running in background but that was expected.. No flash, poor video recording and obscure settings options are some of the glitches.

Also, many times I ne... moreI had taken my galaxy 3 at the samsung service center (Samsung customer service really sucks) today and he said that there is a fault with the mother board due to which the network gets weak & hence the call drops...they r getting it replaced with a new one. Chk whether ur phone also has a similar issue... & thanx for ur suggestion on saving the battery life..
Anyways now i am not too keen using this phone in the future.. the excitement is lost & would not recommend any one buying a samsung phone..

U can close all unnecessary applications, and save about 70% battery life.

i've bought galaxy 3 couple of weeks back but started using only last week onwards and i have been facing regular call drops. Is any one of you facing the same problem or could it be relevant to my piece only?? And of course the battery life is very poor. Need to charge twice a day to keep the phone alive.... I am not too happy with the phone after having used nokia for such long time.. my sceptism for samsung phone has proven right.

Its Awesome.. No Doubt About It Now I Got My Galaxy 3 Day Before yesterday .. Everything Is fare .. I was Frighten to buy any phone apart from Nokia But now glad to say its Worthy .. Nice Look Camera is Lovely Sound is Wonderful specially when 5.1 Activated.. and Touch Sensitivity is excellent.. yes Back Cover is Not Good its so cheap…
