Nokia N8 review: Director of photography

12 October 2010
We’ve come to take Nokia for granted in the low end or the business class but it seems it has lost the knack for killer phones, run out of royal blood. It’s up to the Nseries to fix it all up. The Nokia N8 may just turn out to be the right cure. With that kind of hardware. Update, 08.02.2012: Symbian Belle update hands-on...

I also like the fact the whole UI changes nicely between portrait and landscape. Something neither iOS or Android does.

Symbian also offers biggest amount of features so what exactly is wrong with it?

                      Hello everyone,
I'm here to plant a thought which will maybe take on root...(nevermind my lunacy ^_^).

About a month ago gsmarena wrote about Nokia's mobile TV Headset, DVB-H, which is all you need to turn your mobile device into a portable television. Basically, anywhere mobile DVB-H (Digital Video Broadband – Handset) coverage exists, you can tune into sports events or TV shows and watch them without worrying about an Internet connection. And they said "DVB-H coverage is still patchy in many countries." meaning your mileage may wary and all that sh*+. Well, why DVB-H? Why not DVB-T instead? The headset is still an antenna so the only difference would be in the boxy controller thingy where you just put the right decoders and you are ready to watch tv on this baby. I have a digital DVB-T receiver at home the size of a deck of cards, its connected via SCART interface. The size could be reduced if they omitted the USB and SCART port. So, unless there are some major voltage differences between the two standards why cant someone from china invent this little box that will make the N8 a truly perfect multimedia powerhouse? (I haven't done my research so please be kind ^_^). Cheers!

No other manufacturer has been able to come out with a penta-band smartphone yet and Nokia deserves some credit for that with the N8!

The problem of a other window that apeears when tipping its not simply the extra steps. it's the page that you don't see anymore...
for exemple, they say that they have treated sms? Really? :) when you are gonna tip you don't see the conversation, you can't scroll up and down, is that really treated sms?
searching: ho haves a android phone konws that when start tipping shows options that you mait chose.
in a brower, panning the page and write somening that is on it, something impossivel also.
But overall nokia jumped from a horrible phone to the worst of the market :) and thats good... i bealyve that only with symbian 4 that nokia starts with phone capables of being iqual too the rest of the market. The problem of Nokia being a mediocre brand, worst then everyone, its not them selfs, its the software they chose...

"Since the battery is not removable, the only option is to completely deplete it."

Or press the power button for five seconds.
