Nokia E7 review: Open for business

02 March 2011
Business as usual for the Eseries is a cliché – thank you very much. But the kind that makes the world feel right. The Nokia E7 could’ve been just another Eseries phone. Oh well, that wasn’t meant to be. The latest is implicitly the greatest but, in the...

This words are use fron gsm review and they explain everything about symbian!!!

""""Web browser is frustrating to use:
Unfortunately, Symbian^3 didn’t deliver the browser overhaul that the platform needs desperately. Despite the added multi-touch and FlashLite 4.0 support, the E7 can just watch helplessly as the Android speeds away."""""

...guys, let's cut the crap!!! the smartphones or high-end phone without internet are nothing, otherwise people buy a 40$ phone if just need to call, so, if still symbian cannot give a right internet navigation, WTF!!!!!!!! 700$ and the navigations experience is like the obsolete nokia 5800!!!! LOL hahahah and after they publicize that in this phone the put flashLITE 4.0 HAHAHAHAHAA wake up nokia engineers, other brands use fullflash 10.1!!! LOLLOLLOLLOL

I just bought this phone last thursday night and i have to say Nokia has totally outdone themselves, when i first saw the n8 i had high expectations and it didnt meet them but with the E7 as soon as i held it in my hands it felt amazingly solid like no phone ive ever held and ive been through almost every phone manufactureur, but this phone feels like a proper device and performs great, im sad nokia has decided to load its future smartphones with windows because this is the first time ive actually felt nokia has finally achieved something great and i believe they should follow this platform because not everyone likes to use childrens toys such as the android and iOS based phones.
With my experience with Nokia i have learned it took them a while to adjust and perfect there Symbian platforms but Symbian 3 feels to me like a big leap into the future.
          R.I.P Symbian....

Not sure why Nokia is sticking to Symbian. They had all the chance in the world to make it an advanced operating system and they failed miserably.

They should just let it go and stick to manufacturing handsets.

But as usual, big corporations like to think they are “Mr. know it all” and they want to milk the revenue until the last drop. This will be the start of their demise. (I strongly believe already started a while back)

Anonymous, 14 Mar 2011USB On-the-go, GPS with free navigation, Office editor out-... moreare you suggesting Android phones cannot store files on the external memory card, doesn't come with Google Map, cannot install Office Editor, aren't available?

Also, given how "busy" a business person is supposed to be, would it be convenient to be able to open the qwerty keyboard with a single hand? Can you do that on an E7 vs. that of Milestone 2?

I simply hate the fact that even GSMArena is trying to make you believe that Symbian is dead, yeah, it's about to lose the top position of smartphone market share, but who cares? Even losing the top, it will still be ahead of iOS and Blackberry OS for example. Nokia have several updates for Symbian this year just like they have several devices to launch, so how can you say that Symbian is dead?
Just stop it, it's annoying already.

AnonD-1082, 03 Mar 2011Kudos to GSMArena for a great review. I do agree that it's ... moreSymbian is dead really? Who said that? A biased website I guess? Nokia never said that would kill Symbian, instead, he said that Symbian is "here to stay" and it will have several updates this year just as several devices that will be released.
So stop believing everything that people are saying to you yeah?

Where I live the official price for E7 dropped from around US$690 to around US$615 in about 2 weeks at major chain stores. Smaller shops even offer another US$50 off...still almost nobody bought this phone.

In the major phone forum only ONE person said he bought the phone...only because somehow he got it for around US$520, but he sold it within a week for around US$425....

Meanwhile, the Motorola Milestone 2 was released officially around the same time where I live for around US$525. Ever since the phone was released, there has been new users started to discuss about the phone in the forum "everyday"....until a week ago...due to the fact the whole city is practically out of stock!
