Why are none of the bigshot review sites reviewing Notion Ink Adam? It was announced in 2009 and launched in dec 2010, with shipping in jan. feb and march 2011.
In CES it was pretty much touted one of the biggest competitors to iPad, with dual core Tegra 2 chipset and Pixel Qi screen (with WiFi and 3G options). I'd really like to see a review of that device on gsm arena and at least some acknowledgment as a competitor of the iPad and Xoom

Anonymous, 29 Mar 2011even others agree or not i stick to the point what steve jo... moreMaybe Itunes is good useful software on a mac but my experinece on PC's is it is awful. it demands huge bandwidth as it constantly is upgrading itself. The menu titles use obscure, poorly defined words. It is hugely difficult to infrequently operate. I need to schedule mutliple hours to do the most mundane task (copy a few new photos onto a device).
My real complaint of apple products is there massive expense. To properly use an iPAD one is force to pay for a newer "real computer" and a broad-band data at home and on your iPAD. After these expenses, voice and sms is poorly supported without additional expenditures for a cell phone.
As far as data backup is concerned, Android tablets are recognized as mass USB devices by most all computers thus it is Very easy to keep at least three copies of your data, one on device one on PC and one on PC backup mechanism (External Hard Drive or network based backup).
Another easy lower cost option for backup is to buy flash memory card, insert in device, copy data to it, remove card and store in safe place.
I believe the Android data concept is to store data remotely and access/ upgrade your data remotely by your device. loosing ones data is not an issue in this model.
I do understand and recognize the value of a WiFI IPAD instead of a netbook as a third or fourth device in an affluent home. In such applications data restoration is not an issue.
without owning a computer, how does one backup data on an iPAD?

Ipad is just a beautiful device with an awful specification. I would never be stupid enough to waste my money on Ipad, its so overrrated, just watch vids on youtube..... i would be darn bored within a day.

even others agree or not i stick to the point what steve jobs said about tablet during ipad 2 keynote
Things :
Easy to Use.
Should not be too complicated like pcs or macs.
TABLET IS NOT A PC/MAC.
yes this is really good point what i heard from apple and this is the first and last good point made by apple maybe ?
even though i saw many tablets on market coming........
none of them are easy to handle or easy to use.
for example i lost entire data on an ipad...
what will i do ?
go to itunes and restore everything including saved games and saved projects inside my applications.
what about android ?......once u lose data not even single ounce of ur saved projects/games are coming back to u.even u may get install apps afterwhile and what about ur settings/saved data for them ?.
itunes do everything......even if ipad lost entire OS in it
itunes loads up entire OS within 5 minutes and restores whole data.
itunes autoinstalls apps and also keep them safe.
itunes can update apps and it can sort out videos.
in most tablets there is no options for sorting videos like tv shows, seasons, music videos etc etc.
how can other tablets re easy to use ?
honest opinion
but to be honest all tablets are just big sized smartphones.
not just the ipad.even samsung since galaxy 7 inches still opens mobile versions of sites ^^

AnonD-1825, 26 Mar 2011You shouldn't buy that, it's got cancelled or getting cance... moreNo. Not just "that" I'd say ANY. All tablets are way too much overpriced and useless. He should be buying a lightweight laptop instead. It's nearly the same price. Stop being advertisement and fashion puppets, people. Start using your own brain, at least a bit....

Ppl bought the ipad basically for surfing the web. And surfing without flash is pointless and boring. I don't understand why the ipad is selling like hotcakes is it because the ui is darn great, I don't think so, I think its more of a brand power apple has whatever apple brought out has to be good? Surfing without flash really?

you keep writing the same cons for all apple p... moreitunes required?! trust me its better than samsung's "standard" system
no standard usb?! this port is being used for +10% of all US phones
no replacable battery?! no need..my ipod is 4 years old and still has the best battery ever
micro sim?! some day we'll all use those
that "standard" system is what it is it is the standard.
this port being used for +10% of us phones is an insanly high percentage isn't it?
my ipod is 2 years old and the battery fuckin sucks now i have to buy a new one
some day we will all use micro sim but if you haven't noticed it isn't that day yet

If you dont want iPad go for new galaxy tab, it's much better choice than XOOM. Xoom get's bad reviews everywhere and people don't buy it.

The usual argument i get here is that iPad sells more than it's competitors, so it's the best tablet in the world. In that case the 100 dollar Eken Android Tablet from China must be better than iPad, cause it sells 30 times more than iPad.

you keep writing the same cons for all apple p... moredude, stop barking here. Yours maybe different from mine especially from the battery. I live here somewhere in middle part of Asia and it's terribly hot in here. And if you are wise enough, you'll know that one of the greatest enemy of batteries are extreme heat. And what is the use of these gadgets when you can use it for merely an hour? DUH.
And that crappy port? Compare placing a micro usb cable to an Apple USB cable on your pocket and see irritating it is? Convenient isn't it?
And since when is it convenient also to use the iTunes compared to just dragging files to your device?
