1 April 2011
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc is back for a second round and this time it will stay a while longer. The company’s new flagship did great in our preview and we’d gladly have more of it. The new BRAVIA screen and the impressive...

Anonymous, 05 Apr 2011sorry man but i really don't think so that this thing (the ... moreYou sir, are exaggerating. They did not criticize the screen they praised it in comparison to the galaxy, as an LCD it outperforms all others and comes extremely close to the galaxy, it only loses in the blackness tests. We have them in and I think they're awesome, I'm an iphone user myself but I get one of these free as a Sony Ericsson ambassador and i'll be using it and selling my iphone.

Its smoother than anything else on the market, crisp and clear, the UI is much improved and the camera is hands down the most phenomenal thing on the market right now, the exmor software/hardware means the shots will come out significantly better than other smartphone cameras including the galaxy s by a long shot.

If all you can do is compare sonys latest offering to HTC and samsung of years ago then I pity you, please do not comment such close minded crap on here again unless you are willing to acknowledge the benefits as well as the shortcomings, criticism is all well and good but there are 2 sides to every coin and ignoring one is good for nothing.

To the editors>> The micro SD IS hotswappable, however it utilises a new switch built into the phone and activated by the rear casing, when you remove the back cover it automatically unloads the micro SD card to prevent data corruption etc if being removed. if you place another memory card inside the phone will only load it again after the back cover is replaced (the switch is a dull white little slit to the top camera side of the handset) the back cover is required to press this in and activate the memory card slot.

Got my Arc yesterday, tot it look very cool...very user friendly for a simple man like myself. Brillant resolution but 1 little drawback is the application count that is lesser than Iphone. To me - not so bothered abt single or dual core so long its fast enough to browse. So far very pleased....Just hoping the application improves!

I don't want anyone taking a peek at what I'm doing on my phone.
So, "bad viewing angle" is not a disadvantage. Just the matter of taste.
And why don't you mention the fact that Arc runs gingerbread out of the box, bigger screen, better camera, nicer design/material and arguably smoother UI.

A lot of the advantages of the galaxy s you have stated are more like your own personal preferences. Arc is better than the galaxy s, so there,:p.Very few people use the front camera or bluetooth, document editor is difficult to use on small screens and arc can get one anyways, divx/xvid is meh rather watch vids on comp, memory is expandable anyways. SAmoled on galaxy s is nice but Arc is still good, are you relly gunna be that obsessed about a mobile screen.

And the Arcs design is much better than that ugly thing (known as the galaxy s).

all the other thing you said is true. so go buy a galaxy s then :) but damn... i would STILL buy this instead of galaxy S even if galaxy s is better, only cuz its SO NICE >:O !!!

and about the screen viewing angles: i tried arc in the shop - viewing angles are great, idk why gsmarena didnt like them, the picture only gets more white, but all colors remain same. a beautiful screen it is :) and so sharp

I bought this phone on 1 April in Delhi and am really enjoying it. the screen is lovely and the performance is silky smooth. My pack also had the HDMI cable and a faux leather cover - so no need of any other accessories. I bought the Silver colour model - it looks much better than the blue (IMHO). Highly recommended.

galaxy have 8 or 16 gb memory, ark only 320 MB!!!!lol
galaxy have front camera, ark no!!
galaxy have document editor out of the box, ark no (only viewer)
galaxy read divx/xvid out of the box, ark no
galaxy have bluethoot v.3, ark v.2
...and most important of all galaxy have the unbeatable SUPERAMOLED screen that make the different to all phones, ark a classic lcd that is criticized even in the gsma review.
ah, and by the way !!!! samsung is more that one year older that this thing (the ark) so, sorry, but say that samsung is inferior is really big mistake!....sony have still so much to learn from samsung engineers, specially about screens....

Compare the LG phone and the Samsung phone with the Arc. The Arc stands out as very beautiful, but the koreans are merely copying iPhone looks.

I can't deny the fact that Arc is superior now although I am a fan of Samsung Galaxy S. However, I shall wait for the review on Galaxy SII before I decide which phone to get.

Afterall, Andriod phones ROCK no matter which companies make it.
