So, the iPad is dead, long live the iPad. That's also part of the deal. The retirement of the first-generation of the Apple tablet is nothing out of the ordinary. There used to be the iPad and the iPad 2. Now, we have the iPad and the iPad 2 is the backup, the second choice...

                Did you ever have an iPad 3 in your hands guys ?
                I own an iPad 3 since 2 days now, and this point is total misleading !

                The iPad came with 70% charged batteries. It was at 100% in less than 3hours plugged to the original charger. While at 100% I could play games like Real Racing 2, Sky Gamblers and Modern Combat 3 without even a 1% drop in charge !!!
                Today at 70% again, I plugged the charger and played the same games. 4 hours later, the iPad was fully charged, 100% while doing intense gaming !

                - Same CPU as iPad 2
                Did you want to say same CPU speed as iPad 2 ?
                A5X is a Quad GPU !!! iPad2 is equipped with A5 CPU !!!

                - No replaceable battery
                I would say: No replaceable battery (like any other tablet ) ! No ?
                Battery can be replaced by qualified personal only !

                - iTunes still required for uploading most of the content : Yep.
                (Wheels are still required for some cars !).

                - No memory card slot (Apple-or else- Connection Kit required)
                The kit offers USB port and SD card slot. USB supports MIDI keyboard for GarageBand for example or a flash drive for pictures only.

                -No standard USB port : see "No memory card slot"

                - No Flash support in the web browser
                Someone help me !
                Flash is galactically known as a battery eater...consumer...

                - No Siri : Bad move from Apple
                (But Siri's voice recognition)

                - Lack of basic iOS apps - weather, stocks, clock, calculator, voice memos : Bad move from Apple.
                (Steve may have an explanation ?)

                - Reflective screen struggles outdoors : Yep
                Only chance for a Kindle to win !
                (But wait... there's a New Kindle ? )

                - Heavier and thicker than the iPad 2: Yep
                I would never imagine that 55 grams were that heavy ! I mean, seriously, after few hours those 55 grams heavier are a ton ! Really !
                Thickness is not a problem. Only 0.6mm thicker. My Incipio Smart Feather from my iPad 2 still works great !

                - Can get uncomfortably hot at times: Yep
                This is the main disadvantage of this iPad(with the weight). :(

                - No stereo loudspeakers: Yep
                THX Sound and 3D coming soon... Stay tuned !

                - No GPS receiver in the Wi-Fi version
                Don't go in the jungle with the wifi version guys or you're will be lost.

                  can't wait till samsung bring out a super amoled plus 10.1 inch tablet with ice cream sandwich + quad core processor and kill these boring ipads

                    Why apple India prices are more than apple US?
                    If pricing is on par, i'm sure india will be biggest apple market. U do this & see sells actually happening. How long u can ignore 1.3 billian plus potential buyers, who dont mind stretching a bit for that fantabulous ipad or iphone?

                      wow! another innovation from apple ... a real game changer...
                      this review really came out quickly .... then again it probably was a lot of copy/paste :))))

                          From Sydney today:
                          Apple is refusing to put corrective stickers on packaging for its new iPad claiming that it would be "cumbersome" but will offer refunds for customers who believe they were misled.

                          The tech giant, though, has offered to put corrective notices at the points of sale for the new tablet computer, saying that the product supports ultra-fast mobile broadband but is not compatible with Telstra's long-term evolution for the fourth-generation network.

                          Apple has been accused by market watchdog, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission, of misleading Australian consumers by selling a product called "iPad with Wifi + 4G" when it cannot connect with any 4G mobile network in Australia.

                            but for an android tablet to match it in performance it needs a quad core CPU
                            see the galaxy nexus have some occasional hiccups vs the transformer prime
                            or maybe it's the companion core that have to do with this because nvidia said something about that
                            hope my questions get solved by the Qualcom's Krait you see it's very powerful even compared with quad core cpus

                              some changes are done!> but still not feeling that it is the perfect tab coz there are some disadvantages that not make it a perfect tablet

                              hence,the company apple should take care of these disadvantages coz these reasons may let the people not to buy itt......
                              AND Most care about its slimness..!!! it is the best feature..

Only if ... moreFirst of all , i admit i am a fan of apple.Yes they do really great work in giving one of the best user experience.Of course they are bit expensive but still they offer really good stuff.

                                I used to hate android like 2 years back due to lags,very few apps and lack of good user experience.

                                But everything changed when dual core devices came (whether its android or iOS) , When i say "i Like iOS" its just fact that i like the simplicity and smoothness of the OS but not talking hardware side.

                                coming to hardware side , it has good "standards" (not the best ones like micro,USB or SD-slot)
                                For example , Most of devices work with my iPod directly , 7.1 sound system or Input device for car stereo etc.I still use old iPod from 2005 along side my other new devices which works great even today.

                                But Android devices (not just phones) with high specs are good (like S2 or Razr or galaxy tab etc).
                                They have good customization like widgets , live wallpapers etc. I like customization but i dont want customization if devices lags , but android devices stopped lagging right from 2011 suddenly , So i feel android is bit good.

                                But if look at OEMs , they never update their devices , 6-7 month delay for updates and they still have lot of bugs even after delay. They just ignore old devices and thrash them away.

                                Only tablet i would ever buy from Android is Google's tablet (just like nexus series)unless it has 9-10 inch screen.

                                I like Android but dont really like the OEM's who try to rip off customers by delaying/bad support.
                                Same with iOS , i like iOS but not hardware with which iOS comes.

                                If u compare both , I would prefer iOS because its easy to use , backup , restore , syncing , transfer data from one device to other , simplicity , decent UI etc. Its because I use PC to do most of my work rather than phone because i feel mouse and keypad are lot better than crappy touch screens , and also battery isnt great for most of devices too , even if they have 3-5 or 7-10 inch screens , they simply cant replace a laptop or PC.

                                How much can u really do on iPad or a droid ?
                                Can u use AutoCAD ? Use photoshop ? perform Video editing ? (advanced tools etc) Can u play hardcore games ? (like Warcraft , COD etc)? Sure u can but only little but not "Complete experience". So PC or Laptop always better at this.

                                  I really don't understand why gsmarena wrote that and it still there, because my iPad charge while using.

                                  About flash, i have used iPad now for 4 days and haven't needed flash even once. Most of people think if they see something flash stuff iOS devices can't show it because lack of flash, but that's not true. I learned this when i bought iPhone, i thinked lack of flash is number one misadvantage, but now i understand how less i need it. Over 70% flash videos now plays with iOS devices.

                                  You are saying iOS is boring compared to android?

                                  Well i can say with 200 000 apps iPad is far from boring :) You can do so much stuff with it.

                                  If you talk iOS vs android OS i say it's boring but if you don't want to customise everything it's very good, i would take smooth iOS over customise laggy android everyday!

                                  What you said about iOS users going for android can't go back to iOS. I have heard and talk with many iPhone users who bought galaxy s2 etc. and went back to iPhone, they said after first weak tweaking they got bored and just wanted to device which WORKS!

                                  But everyone can buy what they want, people appreciate different things about their products. Both android and iOS are very good, still i never going to buy android device because it's not for me.

                                    Doesn't heat up that much to bother me so far. Maybe because of the colder weather. Need to keep an eye on this.

                                        WTF?? Thats why I think some people overestimate some apple products. I admire the stable iOS, the smoothness, the design but some basic of basic things that they should put in their products, they dont, like this charging thing or flash support...I confess until today I havent bought an iphone or ipad because the lack of flash support...if someday they give it a try, I think they will crush the competition.. I know they already dominate their market, but they should try to get the ANDROID consumer, like me, which is happpening in the other way, once the apple fanboy really try ANDROID system, they stuck with it. The iOS compared to android is BORING. iTunes to do everything? no charging while using it? no flash? common!!
