Nokia Lumia 820 review: Backup squad

22 November 2012
Back up against the wall, Nokia looks to the launch of the first Windows Phone 8 smartphones as a make or break moment. It’s not essential for the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 to become bestsellers, but it’s absolutely vital that they convince users of Microsoft’s mobile platform's potential...

As i suspected the dual-core beat the quad-core... Why? I think we all know that the Android OS is Laggy buggy and heavy.
Again Windows phones and IOS don't need quad-cores( it would be good indeed ).
Just another thing that i must say is that the reviewers don't talk about the Lags and breaks on Android i hope in the future that it would happen.

How can you criticise a review when you are uncapable of writting something with a minimum of logic?

My opinion: good OS, good specs, good features, bad battery life. I definitely want more battery, even if it takes more thickness, it better have a 20mm thick version and have a huge 7000+mAh Li-Ion battery. If a phone is designed with a user replacable battery, then why not to have a 'giant battery' version?

AnonD-79830, 22 Nov 2012you have no idea what you're talking about.. and clearly yo... moreAt least I don´t need to insult in order to make my point, which is very objective and unbiased. I own Windows, and Apple products, no Android. I have had only Nokia phones since inception, my first non-Nokia phone was a year ago. I clearly don´t have a specific interest in badmouthing anyone. I limit myself to stating my honest opinion. In this case, with all my grief, I must say that both Microsoft with W8 (the 3 versions of it), and Nokia, are not looking too good.

I used to criticise a lot Android, but the fact is that they have manage to make Android a really good product, probably in par with OS in terms of usability and much better in terms of flexibility. So clearly the best mobile OS currently out there.

Nokia Lumia is growing up and try to against Samsung and Apple's device.

Great phone, good review. But you kept comparing it with Android devices and not the iPhone.
That's a bit unfair because the WP OS obviously doesn't have as many features or as good hardware as the Android devices, making it stand out as a downgrade. But to the consumer features and hardware isn't everything.
Compare it more to the iPhone (as you usually do in most reviews), which is one of the best selling and most appreciated phones on the market, and you'll find that the arguments about OS flexibility and hardware are much weaker. As a competitor to the iPhone the WP running devices appear much more appealing to the market, except for the power users. So it's a pretty unfair review in my honest opinion.

                            READ THIS NOKIA:

                            1. Install decent camera and audio
                            2. Lower your price tag

If you want to sell lots of this device, offer decent value for money...remember you have lots of droid competitors and WP still behind iOS and Android in terms of apps

Nokia never learn...what were they thinking to put mediocre camera and not so good speaker on this device..plus the high price tag.

Fix those 3 problems, and sales will surely go up.

I installed this app to my old galaxy SL and it is really amazing and I am just wondering the flexibility that android gives. It is almost like using a brand new windows phone. I don't understand is it very expensive to add in radio fm module? Nowdays all smartphone have built-in fm radio with rds and also ability to recording. Not so many people have money to subscribe on line radio data.
