According to Mr. Webster an Oblong means
adjective
: deviating from a square, circular, or spherical form by ELONGATION IN ONE DIMENSION.
How can you apply the word oblong to a rectangle with rounded corners? ??
The top and bottom are a bit curvy but still the phone does not appear oblong at ANY ANGLE.
Obviously you are just trying to find a scape goat for your argument and call a rectangle an oblong unless you are blind.
And you can't accept the fact that your GLITTERY phones are very feminine. Glitters are normally associated with girls especially if it has "CRYSTALS" as in Glitters and Glamours of a beauty pageant, lol!

The only samsung phone i still love is my phone samsung Galaxy S2.
I love my samsung galaxy S2 i did not upgrade to s3 because of its Oblong design.which is very feminine .
My S2 is by far good looking than S3.
I love a rectangular phone...i hate egg-shaped phones like s3 and Nexus 4.
Like the MASCULINE SHAPED AND DESIGNED OF BOTH my S2 and Optimus G.

phone with an oblong shaped is very feminine, and rectangular phone is very masculine.
s3 is more feminine look...especially its garnet red color version.
while optimus g is more masculine because of it s pure elegant black color and its a rectangular shaped.

lg optimus g has metallic (literal) borders....
glittery design can be for both men and women, its depends on its pattern and combination. thats what we called modern fhasion design...
crystal glass patern reflections design on the back of the optimus g is actually good looking elegant...
its not a feminine look ...its very masculine combination for its pure black rectangular shape.

i have this phone and im Proud of LG! im truly satisfied.
for my opinion,
Samsung Galaxy S3 looks very FEMININE its OBLONG SHAPE and shiny plastic compare to LG Optimus G's RECTANGULAR FULLY BLACK MASCULINE SHAPE!
samsung galaxy s3 never win any major design awards,while Optimus G won Best design awards.

Taking into consideration that the LG OPTIMUS G PRO was launched almost 9 months after the GALAXY NOTE II, I am surprised to see that the Note still got many advantages.
Before spending that much money on the LG, think about the fact that the GNote 3 is just around the corner.
The only way I would replace my beautiful Note II for the LG, is if I would get it for free...
Just waiting on that Note 3.

I don't wanna be fooled by the band wagon popularity you get on phones!! If you where to look @ youtube review between the Galaxy s3 and the optimus G the Opt G killed the s3 in plane site!! He can even check himself regaredless it has a non removable battery or u can expand its memory with an sd card slot! Overall optimus g killed the s3 as much he defends the s3 we are also defending the optimus ANd we don't care about the popularity contest.

Even the black version of the Optimus G is GLITTERY. BIG phones goes well with big hunky men but not GLITTERY phones. The S3 and the Note 2 comes in brushed metallic design which is very MASCULINE.
With non removable battery, your phone will be just like worthless brick as soon as it's battery is busted unless you send it for replacement that would cost you money and headache.

Now, have you checked the benchmarks of the S4 against the Optimus G which is the proper counterpart of the S4? Yours was smoked and trailing waaaayyy behind. Now who wins?

LG O... moreYou are indeed desperate in defending your device. The fact that the real counterpart of Galaxy S3 is the LG Optimus 4X that lags in benchmarks. Galaxy S3 was released in May and Optimus 4X was released in June and both uses quad cortex A9. But since that you are comparing the S3 to a newer device, I'll give you that advantage. But despite that, your Optimus G is just on par with the S3 in benchmarks. 5 win for Optimus G and 5 for the S3.

[deleted post]I might believe what you said if I had not seen the device. GSMarena is right. It looks CHEAP. Although the back of Optimus G is made of glass, it looks more plastic physically. It copied iphone's non removable battery in trade off for a more "PREMIUM" feel (a big disadvantage). So when your battery gets busted, then your phone is totally DEAD FOREVER unless you send it for a replacement that will cost you considerable amount of money.
LG phones look good on specs, but fails to impress on actual use. I've seen several reviews and they all share common impressions. It's probably the reason why they do not get the best gadget awards.
