Love the conclusive paragraph of the shootout.
Last year I fell in love with the One X but I ended up buying the s3 after reading so many tech reviews. Regretted it and switched to the One X because it just didn't feel right. I didn't have the phone that I really wanted.
This year I'll be getting the One. Not because of what people say about it, its because its the phone that I want.
I suggest you do the same people, get the phone that you want and stop bitching against the other choice that you didn't make. Or can't make, if you're that unfortunate.

I see the Camera Comparison trashed ONE in almost all conditions. Only your comparison says that Galaxy S4 camera is better. Sorry, i will ignore you and take the rest team as majority is far good.

If it isn't better sign off then again sign in again or reset your phone. Otherwise you have a faulty unit or your being dishonest. I have no problems with the phone and it's battery life and I'm coming from a Note2. :)

I luv the HTC's but the one is a lemon, can't take down blink feed the gallery is now organized badly and the last two weeks has seen my battery drain in 6 hours, I have found out my email is constantly stuck on updating so it will never stop updating both my email accounts which means a hot phone and no battery, once I delete the accounts it's fine butthen it takes about 3 days and itsit's back again, time to join the Samsung revolution me thinks no wonder there losing money......

First thing that comes to impress is the shape. Htc is far better in looks than galaxyS4. It gives a manly look, the speakers and music are awesome. Camera is good, we are not professional photographers, don't need that minor detail in daily photography. Go for Htc.

Just a point on the missing menu button on the HTC One: my understanding is that this is due to Google's Android design documentation saying to remove the menu button, HTC are adapting to android design documentation before most app devs and other hardware providers. Someone's gotta do it I guess. Whether its good for you or bad is personal preference I guess, but I did wanna point out that its not htcs design but Googles. :)

I heard the HTC one has a really bad fault with the volume down button on the phones for you versions. Samung S4 all the way, it looks miles more expensive with the plastic finish.

As a HTC fan this review is dissapointing. Nice looking, thats the only big win! God awful camera which sometimes manages to compare to 2010 flagships. Havent advanced on the camera. Stepped backwards 3 years. This is dissapointing. No really big wins at all in any department, yet the s4 did have. Lost me HTC. No wonder profits slid 98% year on year. R.I.P HTC

Addition to "(A) HTC ONE - Zero gap construction: Failed!". HTC ONE casing is consist of a "U" shape body and a "-" top cover. Two parts are joined together. It is not an "O" shape casing as some thoughts. Zero gap construction claims is misleading (marketing trick to make you think it is perfect). After using for sometimes, gap will appear.

(A) HTC ONE - Zero gap construction: Failed!

* The volume control button is made of electroplating plastic. Not full metal as advertised (Consider marketing gimmick?). The worse part was some user complaints that the paint peeled off.

Initially, HTC fan were aggresively protecting their brand with all kind of words like: Samsung conspiracy, the user band the cover themselve etc. All this was settled down after both issues received the official response from HTC. So these are the true and confirmed cases.

I'm saying you go out and compare the two phones hand in hand, side by side and you'll see for yourself what I'm talking about. In the end the beauty is in the eye of the beholder and my subjective view is that HTC One takes better stills and video then S4. Simple.
