Every phone these days have smart dialing and s3,s4 telephony features are far advanced than its competition. S3,s4offers direct call in which you don't have to dial a number but it will be dialed automatically as you put your phone close to your ear and it is not gimmick, it works every time even when you are lying on bed.
And You can always use some third party browser.oh come on don't tell me you never heard of something called
"app store " ?? lol......

Samsungs cam software s too buggy,

This is same as with Note 2, its the best cam i had on a phone but too many failed shots, it requires time and effort to use a samsung under everything else than perfect conditions. Xperia Z is so much better in that way, never have to worry, it does it right at the first attempt in any condition. Just wish the Z had the level of detail the S4 has, and things like for example a setting to save with less compression. Still, i believe the Z is already the best camphone for those who dont want to mess around with settings and try again and again, i just hate to tell people "wait, one more shot" when they have already started to walk away, and you will do that too often with a Samsung phone. Great synthetic performance but low practical performance.
I know those who are pretending to be expert photographers have a different opinion, but again, Pretending is the emphasized word here.

I have an HTC One and I'm using it to comment this post..absolutely love this phone, matches everything I want in a smartphone! Although I know Sammy probably sell more handsets but I don't really care, it's just a number game on a piece of paper to say "look how many we sold this year" etc...tbh...if it wasent for sammys marketing Sammy won't sell as much but that does not necessarily mean HTC is a poor product or won't sell as good!

Can we get feedback to when ever the latest patch has been used for the HTC one since the patch improves the image quality quite a bit.

ill take htc over sammy any day... ive used both s3 and htc one x, and for me it comes down to how you use the phone! when you want to call someone, on the htc you hit the call button and u can straight away type in a number or letters of their name and they apear in a list. one touch and its calling. with sammy you have to choose which menu, then click on the search, type the name then select the contact which takes you into there profile then press the number to call! by that time i would of finished my call with the htc lol....
and then there is surfing the net, on the htc when u zoom in the text automatically adjusts to fit the screen, where with sammy you have to start moving te screen left and right to finish sentences! when u have been using htc for so long and try and use others its soooooo frustrating.

Not that I'd ever jump to android mobile phones, but gun to my head if I had to choose one, the HTC is an easy choice. The camera is meh, but it has more function than gimmicks. And it looks way better.

Seriously?? So much HTC fanboys haven't got a scoob about the reality on the ground, the One X is a brilliant phone / but the S4 is newer, more beefed up and is sitting pretty to whup the One X in nearly every test.. Beats Audio is the only thing making One X stand out, and purty sounding speakers don't make up the ground lost to the S4 in terms of sensors, raw processing advantage, and basic evolution
The Xperia Z is a far more slick machine compared to the One X, and the S4 should really have been faced off against that / though early doors estimates suggest the S4 will pip the Z to the top prize.. I have a Z and the prospect of the S4 beating it means Nothing to me, I accept facts, unlike the trolling fanboys who persist with their "world is flat" ideas..
Good review, just that the One X was the wrong phone to compare the S4 to in my opinion

I guess unless you're a superficial person that value looks over power and functionality, or some teenager who are addicted to social media and has a thing for stereo loudspeakers, you would prefer the S4 without a doubt.

Well I hate to burst the HTC One's bubble, but the fact is, the Galaxy S4 is going to absolutely crush you in sales... Sorry, but that's just going to be a fact.
I can't understand the logic in why you HTC fanboys feel Samsung is going to fail? The S line of smartphone is the best selling line of Android phones PERIOD. People buy into a brand that has credibility within the market and are popular. As much as I like the HTC One, its human psychology to go with what people see the most, and that currently is NOT HTC. Its called "social proofing" and perhaps you HTC fanboys should look this up before you get too carried away with this excellent device.
Unfortuately the HTC One is a completely unproven line of smartphones, with an unproven camera and software to boot. Whereas this is the 4th Gen Galaxy phone is just that. Its a 4th gen product with a trusted reputation for releasing amazing phones with innovative features and unparalleled hardware. This makes the decision easier for the consumer.. do I go with the conventional, well know phone with amazing features and hardware or the phone from a company that's struggling and just put in a different camera sensor and front facing speakers (which i LOVE btw) in it to be different?
As for the looks, yes, the HTC "looks" better. But for those that have owned HTC's before will know that their phones are scratch and dent magnets. Unless you put it in a case, its going to look pretty awful before long.. Sorry, this is just fact! So... as usual, you completely ruin the aesthetics therefore looks mean nothing.
Then there is no removable battery and expandable storage. Those of you who dismiss this, clearly have NEVER had this functionality in the first place. I carry a fully charged spare battery everywhere, and let me tell you this... BATTERY LIFE IS NEVER AN ISSUE. Can the same be said about the HTC One? NO. Expandable storage is also a must. $16 for an extra 16GB or $30 for 32GB.. How much is that on the HTC One to expand? Probably considerably more. On the GS4, I can swap and change this as i chose.
Then there is everything else.. Bigger, better display. Faster CPU. Proven and tested 13mp Camera. More software features...
Sorry HTC One fans, but you are wishing on a star if you think the HTC is going head to head with the GS4 in terms of sales.
Will it be HTC's return, I genuinely hope so and I wish them all the luck in the worlds as i've had two of their phones. Will they beat Samsung? Absolutely not

I own a HTC One for almost 10 days now and I can report that this device is absolutely fantastic..this phone is sufficient enough for majority users...everyone debating over which phone is best, I urge u guys to go out and have a feel of the phone in stores..u pick up HTC One and SGS4 and u will notice the difference..a lot of people just base their opinions on the spec sheets etc but until u have owned one these devices..then shut the hell up! I used this phones to record a concert and the video quality and sound are amazing, and the camera is not as bad as u think! Own it then suggest Ur opinion! Ohh and the new "innovations" from SGS4.?! Mostly gimmicks and not really ideal for practical daily use...been told from my friend that works in carphone warehouse for over 8years!

Oh boy, I wasnt gonna comment but after reading pages of fandroid babble from both sides of the fence I figured id chime in with my own brand as well. [plus im bored at work lol]
Firstly, I feel qualified to make a commentary here as ive owned about 50 odd phones at this stage, and for the last few years ive only ever gone for 'flagship' models as they have best suited my requirements. Now, i guess at this stage I am what could be considered a Samsung loyalists, but that isn't unconditional, it is based off the fact that they keep getting it right.
I have had a Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S1, 2 and 3 and already have my S4 pre-ordered, but in between those ive had a whole slew of other phones as well, many from HTC such as the Evo 3d, Sensation, Desire, S, X, Incredible S, HTC One etc. Ive even recently owned the Nexus 4 and Optimus 4X HD from LG....
The commonality between them all is that they have all been great for their time, [excepting the Desire X, I did not care for that phone much] but the Samsung line is the one that I keep coming back to...so in the interest of keeping my pockets heavier and to reduce the final value fee's I keep giving ebay im just gonna stick with Sammy here on out.
The reason is an accumulated whole, like the old saying goes, it is the sum of its parts. Samsung just nail a lot with their products. The build quality is excellent, seriously, people who attack Samsung for this need to actually have more hands on time with the devices. You may not like the build MATERIALS, but this does not mean the build QUALITY is lessened. In practical terms, If you have a light plastic chassis on a phone and drop it you are far more likely to get away with a minimum of visual damage as compared to dropping a glass backed or aluminium backed phone, all bets are off if it lands on the screen, but that is an affliction of all these jumbo displayed smartphones.
Another thing for me [and this is a personal choice] but nothing compares to AMOLED screens imo. When i play a game with plenty of contrast and vibrant visuals, ala Rayman Jungle Run, there is simply no comparing how it looks on a GS3 as opposed to a Nexus 4 for example. it just blows it out of the water, the same can be said for Movie viewing, always far more enjoyable on an AMOLEm for me. Now with the advent of the 1080p screen pushing the pentile so far down as to be not visually discernible at all, plus the adjustments that can be made for more neutral colors, is there really any reason not to favor these gorgeous screens?
To add to that, I dont think many HTC fans [or Sammy haters as there seems to be a lot] are giving credit to Samsung for what they achieved from a design viepoint. The S4 looks like the smallest phone of the 4 in this comparison, and yet its screen looks the biggest! [I know the Z is the same but as it has on screen keys it clearly looks smaller for actual viewing] This is a pretty impressive feat of design in my books.
I could keep waffling on, but Samsung fans will get me, the combination between appreciable software perks, a consistently awesome camera, timely updates[!], great in hand feel and class leading specs which translate into a better user experience means that they will continue to get my coin. Im a Samsung loyalist, because other companies havent given me a good enough reason to ever stray for too long.

I really want to know how does gsmarean calculate the battery rate. I see HCT One has 1h16mn longer than S4 in term of web browser. In contrast, S4 manages to has only 30mn longer on video playback and voice call.
Can any one explain me the formula?
