i tried yr idea of:

Guyz i got how to wrok mp3 in back ground!!
First go to the security menu in the settings and in privacy tick the memory card option, press save and enter your password.
- After that open the mp3 player, play the song that you want.
- After that press the up button, it goes to the album.
- Then go to options, Add Music From, Memory Card. It will ask for the password, dont enter the password and just press the hangup button (the red one).

the phone hangs after i press the red hang up button...even if u get it to work, how to minimise it so that i can work other functions?

To: poly. Samsung D600E operates EDGE and D600 doesn't. You have to search in the instruction is there something about EDGE.

                  >does the phone have an apostrophe sign, if so which key should I use to get it?

Just press the # key for a bit while texting and you'll see the symbols. Scroll down one click, and there's the apostrophe, use key 5 to insert it. Press OK. :))

To: J.P. you have to format battery. I.e. you have to discharge battery and charge it at least 12h. Repeat this "operation" three times. Then should be o.k.

I am not sure, tell me please. My D600 has the worst battery life of all. I am lucky if my phone lasts till 15H00 each day if fully charched the previous night. I may use it for half an hour a day or so and I cannot even think of playing MP3's or doing anything else that is available on the menu. All I can do is use it a an alarm in the morning and make and receive a few calls and then the battery is gone! We changed the battery for a new one, but no difference, the battery still lasts only half a day. I am very frustrated because I need to use my phone full time. The D600 was recommended highly by everyone including the dealer but to me it is one long frustration and no joy at all. I will rank it as the worst telephone ever made by Samsung, unless you can prove it otherwise. Is there anything I can do? Is the problem only on my phone or do you receive complaints from other users as well? We compared the D600 to the D500 and the D500 has 4 times longer battery life than my phone, it is very embarrasing!

well, that site says that the d600 supports 1gb microSD. my question is, does it support 2GB memory cards?
i want to use this phone as an mp3player. can you have directories with mp3 files on it and play the directories as you would on your computer or something? i don't want it to simply be able to play songs from a long list. has anyone who used this phone got an answer to this?

go to www.mobymemory.com as this is where i get my info from.It tells you if the memeory card works with a certain phone & if it does not pass it will not include the phone in the list. For example some bigger cards work in some phones BUT special versions of the same type of card & mb size dont because they have a high speed write/rewrie speeds.

my phone was fully charged at midnight and the next day, i did some photo taking the whole day but did not make/take any phone calls or use mp3/video.. purely photo shots, is it normal for the batt to run out that quickly? in the evening, I only had 1 bar for battery! how's everyone's batt life like?
