The D600 is a nice mobile but does let you down with certain features like viewing your photos on the full screen an setting your own ringtone for you message tone, thanks for the guy who told me about pressing the number 1 button watching your videos on the full screen but sometimes its says content not available then next time it plays o.k,Samsung will learn to produce better phones an functions for its european mobiles instead of just thinking about its korean mobiles i am sure, everyone with the D600 i would purchase the crystal clear casings you can get of Ebay they cover all the phone an look superb an keeps any scratches or marks on the phone keeping it looking like sprankingly brand new then easier to sell it later GET ONE WHILE YOU CAN!

This fone is a waste of money. Rather get a sony ericsson w800i or k750i. They both have 2mp camera+autofocus! And they both have infared, a memory stick duo pro(up to 4gb), great music players and they both beat the d600 !!!

About installing java via USB. I wrote it before. Here it is.

Hello friends. Here is a tutorial for installing java on your Samsung D600. I found it on a forum. I've tried it and it worked. If you have any questions, e-mail me at ivo1st@dir.bg. If you cannot find thise softwares on the net, I will send them to you.

          1. Install and run SoftickPPP. When you get to the configure USB Share mode, choose the exclusive mode, (the software was intended for palm users so ignore & dont worry about any errors it gives you) DO NOT RUN YET

          2.On your d600 go to "menu\applications\java world\options\network settings
In the "APN" box type "internet"
Leave both LOGIN ID & the PASSWORD boxes empty. Finaly disable the proxy settings & SAVE

          3. Connect D600 to computer via USB cable and make sure is connected (Run the software you get with the fone to see if its connected but DONT leave it running while you use SoftickPPP) once connected run SoftickPPP it will appear as a running task on the tool bar, right click it and select "SETTINGS" then select the "BLUETOOTH/SERIAL" tab at the top, if the fone has connected propery it should have "COM7 \Device\ss_mdm0" with a box to tick, Tick that box & push OK

          4. right click SoftickPPP icon in toolbar again an select "ACTIVATEPPP"

          5. Run uploader.exe an add your jad file into it

          6. On your D600 enter the code #*536963# to enable serial download (push C to leave that screen when done)

          7. Enter code #*5737425# into your D600 to enter the download menu then select "PPP UP" and on the next screen select "USB" on the next screen select "SERIAL DOWNLOAD"

          8. If you have a firewall you have to let uploader.exe & SoftickPPP have access to the internet

          9. Once you finished enter the code #*536961#

I came up whit this later state:
I'm starting to realize that installing java by this way is not very reliable. I really don't know what happens with software. I did it on D500 and it worked fine (there weren't any problems later), I did it on my D600 and it worked there too, but my D600 returned some errors later. I really don't get it, what's going on!!! I see that most of D600 owners don't have any problems, but I had too many on my one. After giving it back to seller for repairs, they reinstalled firmware, and till now I don't have troubles, except my handsfree.... I pray not to have anymore of them.

            ladies/gents

i have something to say about this phone.
first, i really like it as its the phone i wished to have and plus it was given to me as a present from my wife.
second the phone is small compact and loaded with features

what i miss in this phone is:
            1. no voice dial (voice tag)
            2. no call recording
            3. no real media file support (rm, ram)
            4. cant crop pictures in the photo editor
            5. cant have beep once ring mode
            6. all java games needs to be installed via gprs
            7. NO Text editor
            8. no 3gp recording only playback a convertor woulda been nice for faster file xchange.

if im worng witn any of the above notes please notify me and help me find hidden features of this great mobile.

            thanks.

The d600 sucks!! It is like the only 2mp fone that doesn't have autofocus. Even the d500 has infared how come the d600 doesn't? These r major weaknesses!!!

About viewing a picture in a full screen mode. I think it is not possible at all. I've tried a lot of ways but without any success. You cannot upload a picture file into Other Files directory. You cannot upload whatever supported media (Audio, Video, Pics) file in this directory. It says Access Denied.
I'm getting disappointed from D600. :( It misses very simple features - like viewing an image in full screen mode; ring and vibrate at the same time; no application install, only java which is very buggy; I've returned my D600 for software upgrade, because of many errors, restarts, hanging ups; my handsfree is faulty, there is a very big difference in audibility of left and right channel (I tried whit D500's handsfree and it was perfect); this phone has the same processor like Nokia 6600 - ARM9TDMI@104MHz, operating system is RTK-E (if it can be called operating system, it is firmware). I am looking for a way of installing Symbian but I think it is not possible.

About connecting phone to PC Studio via USB or Bluetooth - it is recommended to disable your firewall, because I experienced a lot of troubles whit this, unless I realised where was the problem.

SAMSUNG D600 ON MAC: I have managed to get the D600's modem working on Mac OSX. This can be achieved by downloading Mobile High Speed (Google it), install it, then go to your stratup drive to \Library\Modem Scripts and copy MMHS Modem to your desktop or something. Then uninstall Mobile High Speed (unless you really want it, but I can't find a serial for it anywhere), and copy the file you copied to desktop or wherever back to \Library\Modem Scripts. Now you need to go to Internet Connect (plug your phone in via USB cable) and get it to use the MHS Modem script. For the number and username/password you need to dial refer to your service provider (I'm with O2, number to dial is *99# and username and password are username and password. Now you're set! Just press connect from Internet Connect and this should work! Email me if you've got a problem with any of the instructions...
                    Peace

                      Hello:
I am a discouraged owner of this phone.

Several flames discovered, but today´s one is: If you have your phone locked (password for files, list of calls and so on...) If you have a missed call: Anyone can see your call lists without password!!
I have phoned Samsung and their answer is that there is no solution to this problem.

Don´t be fooled by the stylist appearance of this phone. It is pure trash. Camera is 85% of time out of focus, email does not work if you have more than 100 messages in your inbox, no voice recognition.

                      NO SUPPORT FROM SAMSUNG.

sorry dude, it doesn't have screen saver feature. The screen automatically turns off when in idle mode for about 10 sec, which i think is good cuz it sort of longers the battery life.

I'm from Argentina and I want to buy a D600, but I heard that this phone has only the T9 in English. Does anybody know how can I do to change the T9 to Spanish? Please, if anybody knows, send me an e-mail with that information. Thanks!

well I managed to connect without any problems...
first i connected the phone to the pc... then windows gave me this message to install the driver - so I did it.
