Certainly, there is a veritable difference between screen resolution when that QVGA 320x240 screen is implemented...for example, take sony ericsson s700 with that "2.4 inch screen, and samsung d600 w/ "1.9 inch...matter of fact, they are both QVGA, but the technology bypasses whether you can squeeze in those pixels into a small sized screen...therefore, d600 screen is sharper and more crisp than sony ericsson's s700...
furthermore, TV-OUTPUT, what a powerful feature included, you can view images, video clips, or even play games through your TV or through those flat pannels...
And talkin' bout mp3's...this phone will totally blasts motorola e398(appology to motorola fans), with digital AMP, pumping those mp3 stereo sounds...compatible w/ 320 kbps formats, would imagine adding pleasure to my ears...good work samsung on the audible tech...hope to purchase this model when it is released...

Ugly? That's a matter of taste and there are various other new phones from Samsung with similar feature sets to this one, but different form factors and looks. Don't tell others to buy based on your own (lack of) taste. If Samsung is not for you, either inform the rest of us of a better phone and the reasons why, or go away.
The Samsung D600 is now listed (as a phone model, not press release) on the Samsung Middle East site.

It is certainly an amazing screen, since the most common cellphone brands (blame Nokia mainly) use substandard / old technology in their phone models. These screens have been in production phones (Sharp, Mitsubishi, other small market share brands) for more than 2 years already, but Nokia et al have conditioned people to be content with rubbish!

Is no one worried about the camera in the back? I would think the lens and mirrow would get scratched when the phone is put on the table.

I think it could be bluetooth related test(if they are going to put stereo audio streaming function in or something). Also software could be pain in the butt too, think about it is a small form factor phone with lots of advanced technology...:)
I m engineer myself and I know how painful to qualify a new phone and make sure it is ready to ship!!!

The test phones sent to reviewers/testers don't work properly (not up to release standard). Delays are more likely to come from getting the thing working right rather than worrying about the D500. The reasons for this are the large price difference between the D500 and D600, and most people are buying other brands instead of D600 (not D500 instead).
To compare the K750 and D600 seems strange. The D600 has a double resolution screen, much nicer sound (dual speakers etc.), file viewer, double size phone book, and SD compatible memory card. The K750 seems like the minimum spec for a nice small phone, whereas the D600 seems to have several extra-nice features.
But people ARE buying phones like the K750 due to the D600 not being released yet. Samsung know the D600 is going to be an extremely successful model, doubtful they want to release it prematurely and get quality issues.

Again, as I already said in earlier posts, the extend of technology depends on time. As time passes by high-end technology migrates to medium technology etc. Samsung has now a high-end phone, but not on the market. It depends on when they release it to determine if it is high-end technology of not. If they don't release it within a few months, the phone may be not as high-end anymore as it is at this moment. So plz stop by saying this is the greatest phone at this moment, because this phone is not available at this moment.
btw. I can't wait until this phone releases, because then it would be my first choice, but until so far it doesn't look like it will happen soon :(

This is one of the best phones available in the market since the past 5 months, this is one of the strongest reason why I havent changed my cell yet. I am sure no one can complain abt it.Samsung should take over Nokia market soon.

lol Nokia is the best??
the reason Nokia sold more phones is because many countries years ago most of the countries didn't have high technology (except Korea and Japan) and therefore they were able to sell a lot of their crappy low-end cheap phones in many countries.
But now a lot of countries like U.S. or Africa are eventually using high-end phones
which means now Samsung is selling their phones worldwide.
Don't even try to compare Nokia and Samsung just because Nokia sold millions of their crappy phones. Qualitywise, Nokia never got even closer to Samsung and never will.
