      For the Maggs person...
SGH-D600 and SGH-D600E are different. The D600E supports EGDE, which basically is hi-speed internet capability. Basically saying, D600E can be used as a high speed ADSL modem. But the D600E is only triband: has 800/900/1900 and EDGE GSM terminals. The D600 however does not have EDGE, but is a quadband phone: 850/900/1800/1900 GSM terminals but no EDGE thus does not have high speed internet capability... Note, that the more GSM terminals a phone has, the more world capable the phone can be. I would personally favour the D600E, because of its ADSL capabilities...

For those reading this, can you help me by reading my previous text below? I need to know if my phone is faulty or not...

      Thanks... :]

I'm in search of help for my SGH-D600's Picsel Viewer problems.... I trialed the Samsung English D600 PDF instruction manual (from samsung.com global download centre), and my phone displays 2 pages properly, and says: Document may be truncated. Then, the rest of the pages (around 120) is white (blank)... Can everyone test this out to see whether this instruction manual works on their D600?

I live in New Zealand, and I purchased this phone as a imported phone from Indonesia (and with a Indonesian firmware). When I emailed Samsung UK about my suspected Picsel Viewer problems, they experienced no irregularities, and recommended me to upgrade to the D600XAEIA firmware. So I took back my phone to the importer and they upgraded my firmware to the recommended one above. But the problem still remains!!!

I was wondering whether you could try downloading the PDF file from the Samsung Download Center from http://www.samsung.com/support/productsupport/download/index.aspx and click Global Download Center at the bottom... When the popup appears, click agree and search D600. Click the SGH-D600, and download the PDF file 'SGH-D600 User Manual (version 1.1)'. Can you upload this onto your D600, and see if the Picsel Viewer successfully opens this PDF file?

Thank you for your help; I look forward to your reply!!!

              For the 'Bee'z' person...
The SGH-D600 does not have the MP3 in background feature... It is capable though, via a aftermarket firmware upgrade. I find the absence of MP3 in background feature annoying, even though the D600 and D900 have the exact same hardware configuration (except the camera quality), and the D900 has the MP3 in background...
Also, with the alert tones silent at beginning... Well, it seems that all D600s currently have this problem. May it be ringtones, alarm alerts, the tones (any format) always seem to start quietly then resume loudly after 2 seconds or so...

If you require all the problems above fixed, I suggest you upgrade to an aftermarket firmware, but your warranty is void if you upgrade to a non Samsung firmware, and your phone's internal system may get damaged if firmware is installed incorrectly....

I hope this infomation is useful :]

For the person with the TV output problems... Are you using the cable that came with your phone when you bought it? If not, buy a cable that has been approved by Samsung... If the cable came with the phone, and the phone doesn't do TV output, go to 'Display Settings' (in 'Settings' menu), and select 'TV-out'. Depending on your phone's firmware, there will be 'None', 'PAL', and 'NTSC'. Select the appropriate system for your country and press OK. If this doesn't work, I suggest that you take your phone back for a replacement, repair or a refund... Sorry... >,<

And for the person with the slider problem, this sounds like a ball bearing problem. This problem may occur when the phone is 'shaken' around a lot, or when the phone is 'shaken' around in the box during transportation. The phone should open by itself when the 8 key is displayed (at least). You could feel the spring working at this stage.... If this can't be felt, I again suggest to take the phone back for a replacement, repair, or a refund....

Sorry if the news is bad...>,

I loved the D500 and would like to upgrade to the D600. I see it lists voice memo as a feature , does that mean it records for less time than a 'voice recorder' feature. Can anyone tell me what the max recording time on the D600 voice recorder is?

                                        To the fellow below me,
You need to use up each battery fully (till the phone turns off by itself) and recharge the battery for around 8 hours (even if green light is lit). Do this a few times, and battery will become stable (normal). Batteries have bad lifespan at first because they've been in storage for a while and have been charged once at the factory... Also, can you tell me what accessories came with your D600.

                                        Thanks :]
