WOW everyone get a grip OMG! You should read the specs of a phone befor you buy it. If the camera is not good enough for you then buy one with a 2 mpix but then youll just end up spending more money for the same phone but just better camera. Dont bash a phone when you get a lemon phone cause there all out there just take it up with T-Mobile im sure they will fix the problem for you or just give you a new phone.

Hey guys i just got the phone from Tmobile, the first thing in the morning is going to return it tomorrow, it didnt even connect to my comp. If you want a camera phone with mp3 player go with sony W800 definetly.

i have found a way around the T-mobile T809 mp3 ringtone problem... its really simple really...
find your mp3 on your desktop..
change the file extension to .3gp(dont convert it or anything just change file extension)
              upload it to your phone..
wholla it can be used as a ringtone now.. now you can change your original file on your pc back to .mp3

I have the t809 tmobile version, and one thing I've noticed is that the mp3's that you upload to the phone cannot be used as ringtones. I guess tmobile wants you to download ringtones so they can make money off of it.

i have had this phone for about 2wks and it is wonderful, signal strength in terms of tmobile service is way better than my d415 that i had and also the bluetooth is wonderful. I got to transfer mp3s to other phones with bluetooth and also use my mp3s as incoming ringtones. What u have to do is this.
                    1. when connecting the phone to your computer. set the usb settings to mass storage.
                    2. what ever songs or mp3s u want to use you can put it ringtone file which can be found under mobile in your memory card.
                    3. once you have what everfile in the correct folder then change the file name from .mp3 to .3gp and then save and then unpplug your phone from your computer and then set it as your ringtone.

This phone will do very well once people know how to use it. It is infact the best cellphone tmobile has for now.

The phone is very nice just got it 2 days ago. Battery life is ok, but thats not much of an issue just charge it every night. But I cant use my own MP3 ringtones for an incoming call. I read that you need to change the format, how would I do this? Other than this the phone is amazing and I'll probably keep it for awhile. Can anyone help me out, cuz the ringers that come with the phone are kinda corny I think.

What's wrong with you guys. Can't you just charge it while you sleep at night. I do that and having no problem at all. Grow up! And Please stop talking crap about bad reception. You don't have GSM in your area then, better relocate. Peace!

the only way to use the mp3 as a ringtone is to rename your mp3 file as a 3gp file. once you had change it just transfer any methods you want and enjoy your new ringtone.

i can't agree more with you, samgsung phones are like the biggest crap ever, the only good thing they have are the screen and now nokia and se have bringing up better screens
and not the mention i have not seen ONE samsung with good battery life and reception

                                    LET'S FINALLY PUT IT SIMPLE:

Samsung cellular phones SUCK when it comes to the main function of the phone: Making and Receiving clear calls! I checked this so-called slider live at T-Mobile store in NYC.
The phone was turned on , so I was able to make few calls.

                                    RESULTS:
The party I was talking to can hear me cristal clear (means: good microphone). But I couldn't hear the person clearly and the sound was too noicy.

I thought that with changing the flip design to so-called slider design will finally resolve all Samsung phones' biggest issue, which is the horrible sound quality. Well, it didn't!

I don't care about 1.3mp (which is bytheway the worsest of all other 1.3mp), MP3 ringtones, player, games, and other bullcrapo when the phone can't perform well as a phone! SHAME ON - SAMSUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, does anyone know whether the t809 (t-mobile branded) phone plays mpegs? or does it strictly use 3gp? Also, is there a way to use your own mp3 ringtones without having to download DRM-songs to set them as ringtones?
