To take a picture with this phone while its closed first you have to slide it up then twist the camera around to you then close it and it works.

I've had this phone for about a week now and I can honestly say this is one of my favorite phones also. I've had alot of phones (I change phones about once a month, gadget freak he he) and this phone has great picture quality, loud speaker volume, and its slim. Battery life could be better but 4 outa 5 aint bad.

Bad and goods of this phone?

This phone is everythign good but battery life. Like everyone has said.. if you use the camera, the video function and the stereo features for the mp3 player then yes your battery will go down. If you use it for phone purposes only the batter life is like any other phone.

If you get this phone you won't be dissapointed. I got it for myself as an early xmas present to me and i'm really happy with it.

Also, tranfering files is really easy too!

After having this phone for a week, I can honestly say this phone is great except for its battery! But, on the flipside the features are being used to the fullest. I watch an episode of Family Guy during work or listen to music, and of course it's a phone. Like I said, it's my first Samsung and it's Great!!

So i see that i'm not the only one with the battery problem. I unplug the phone in the morning and by night time its down to one bar of battery. Anyone know where i can get a higher capacity battery for the phone?

I must say, every feature one this phone is great. I own the tmobile t809 and recommand to get this phone. It is currently one of my favorite phones on the market.

For the one who bashes samsung:
You may have had a bad phone in itself. Every company happens to have a bad bathc here and there but i must say that Samsung phones are great. I've owned motorola, nokia, and samsung and so far the samsungs are, they last longer than other phones i've tried. I've had them for years and always work great. The screen is beautiful and the features are work perfectly. I just need a better battery :P

Samsung produces a million of slide phone now. The function never change since the old model to new model. These days technology, the phone can play whole set of movie now for just 128MB memory card. I use my O2 IIs play a set of movie on a go with my 1G, just perfect to store about 6 movies, a few Karaoke songs and all my works. I cope all my tasks for just in one device. When I did my presentation, never bother to bring my laptop, my O2 is just enough. It just more convinience to use my O2 to do all the work. At the customer site, I never think of taking my laptop with me at all. Combine with Bluetooth keyboard is just great like a mini laptop. I had one samsung and I never use it again. Samsung's function is so kid. It seems like a toy and the phone quality is so crap. D500 is a crap. never think of get samsung again. It last not that long, especially the screen....it is easily to black out...... dont appreciate it. U just use for just a few days. Leave it longer, u will see. If u want a stylish phone, go for Nokia8800 or V3. Nokia 8800 is perfect for stylish and high class people. the phone is scratchless including the screen too. The color is sharpness and perfect for high class people.

this phone is amazing, i have had it for about a week. The display is CRYSTAL CLEAR, plus it plays movies(full shows once converted),mp3's and you can view word and text docs on it. If you have tmobile its the t809, look for it, its a really nice phone

I have the T-Mobile edition (T809), great phone, it does quite a bit, I like Samsung's new datalink software for managing contacts, appointments, etc. The only down side to the phone is the battery. It is a bit on the weak side, I would've liked to seen better battery life from this unit.

                                  Slide is out of date?
than what happens to bar and clamshell types? are they ancient?
                                  give me a proper argument

No need to bash this phone. This is actually a great phone. I've had it for a few days now (since its still new) and it does quite a bit. The only thing that it doesn't do is tv tuner and radio but thats not needed in a phone. As for the slide feature, it actually is different. It slides pretty smoothly. Its not like just a cheap phone the slides it is the type where you just give it a small tuck and it slides to a locked position for you. Kind of like the side kick but instead of flipping around, it slides up in place. By far this is my favority samsung phone and has many features for a great price!

What else samsung can do beside that slide phone. Come on samsung, that is slide style is out of date now. Can you make any better? Abit more function, not just a phone
