THIS IS THE QUIETEST FONE EVER!! ive had a range of other fones over the last 5 years and i have to say the mp3 player and loudspeaker are rediculously quiet... trust me this is a completely honest review.. i own the fone and have done for the past year..i have also had like 20 other fones (noki, sony ericsson, samsung etc...) and by far this is the quietest.. honestly... i can play an mp3 full blast and hear my own fart...

          Ψ şį&,

from Rajesh Tips and tricks guide:

How to turn off keypad tones?

To turn off the keypad tone, slide tone and power on/off tone TOGETHER, press down volume-keys on the left side of the phone till zero, from the MAIN SCREEN. This is the quickest, and is the right method, if you want to keep ‘Theme’ as the dialing display font.

Also you can turn off (or change) keypad tones (menu 9-4-2) power on/off tone (menu 9-4-4) and slide tone (menu 9-4-5) independently. Thereafter, pressing volume key will not affect the corresponding tone.

If the keypad tone menu in your phone is INACTIVE, go to display settings…dialing display…font type and change ‘theme’ to ‘normal’. Then go back to keypad tone menu to turn off/change tone.

              Mevash,

it sounds like you have the issue i have with my new D900!

in order to confirm this please take a look at the picture of my cell phone:
              http://picasaweb.google.com/talsarfaty/MyD900ScreenIssue/photo#5123056900036309538

if you zoom into the link (using the magnifier icon), you can see my phone only has very thin (hair wide) balck lines gathered in two vertical strips in the center of th screen.

              is your phone usable?
              does you screen look similar?
if so, i will let you know what i found out about this issue so far.

Hi, i recently purchased my SamsungD900 and was very impressed with it. However, my neice mistakely dropped my cell causing the LCD to crack resulting in the ink being distorted. I have shopped around trying to get a resonable rate to repair the damage which costs approximately R800 which i personally feel is ridiculous. Do i have any other options?

                  A serious D900/i owner wanted!
According to GSM Arena, D900/D900i is one of the loudest phones around http://www.gsmarena.com/latest...ew-171p3.php

On the other side, I spotted some owners were complaining about how their D900/i's are a bit quiet.

Since I think this handset is one of the best all-rounders, who's right, who's wrong (GSM Arena or the owners)?

                  Also, how's the earpiece sound?

                  Thanks

JIMMY. I think the call quality is excellent on the D900. Even the hands free is of good volume. Almost no need for a car kit!
You can stop all incoming calls if you want to - or stop incoming calls when you use the phone outside of your home service area. You need to Activate with a password supplied by your service provider. (User guide p.98)

Thanks 4 ur comments people...i'm not really impressed by S.E.,the only thing i need is good call quality and loud voice and still don't know does d900 have the ability to block certain calls or not?...many people complain about camera quality of d900 and i wonder instead of that i can have w950 with more operational fuctions if d900 has missed them i don't care about symbian on w950 either...but when it comes to d900 vs. w910 i'll go 4 d900.I want to know the screen of w950 is as good as d900?and also difference of walkman 3.0 and that on w950.

Tom; it seems like you are taking things personally :-)
talking about D900 competitors is very legitimate in a D900 forum.
this anonymous dude was asking for help and he got it.
you are not managing this forum AFAIK.
be patient for others and try to also be bit happy :-)

W910 is ugly and D900 is beautifull mobile phone! This is difference. Please write about SE on SE forum not on Samsung forums.

to the anonymous below (asking about w950):

it is a bit funny comparing w950 to D900.
W950 is a bar designed smartphone when the D900 is a non-OS multimedia slider phone.
w9540 is a lot heavier and less compact comparing to the D900.

anyway if camera is not important for you and you like SE, i would recomend you to take a look at the w910.
this is a slider multimedia phone just like the D900 (not a smart phone like the w950 and the future to come w960).
the first impression i got from the w910 is very good and i doubt it if you can find a better multimedia phone (again unless camera is important).

the w910 have a huge amazing screen, walkman 3.0 software, robust design, does not take fingerprints and is more compact even comaring to the D900.

do not be scared by the shocking red housing of the phone it also comes in solid black:-)

I must say that the samsung d900 is an amazing phone, it has all the features that i need, good camera, good music player and lots of memory! I would like it if it had a radio and the only problem with it for me is that the screens break too easily! My screen broke and it costs too much to repair at a price of R1500!

I have the D900 and it's a great phone. Very slim and sleek. The resolution in the screen is way better than the older models. It's got a cool theme in it too, so when you go to dial numbers, the numerics don't just pop up like the boring old phones (you'll see what I mean when you buy it). Sound quality is good with an equalizer setting. Good shortcuts to access it as well as the camera. The camera kinda sux though cuz it takes FOREVER for the thing to take a picture and the slightest movement will make it blurry, so don't buy it for the camera feature. Another bad thing is that you can't directly put things into the memory card. You have to put it on the phone first then move it to the card. Kind of a hassle. The programs that come with it are good though. Lets you edit songs and cut out and select what you want in case you want to make it your ringtone. Lots of bugs in the other programs that you use though.
