I'm also happy that you could install pc studio successfully.
Making Ring Tones- music clips:
Making music clips for ring tones is so easy with pc studio. If 'Edit sounds' is there in the pc studio menu (that is version 3.0.1), click on it. In the sound editor, click 'OPEN' icon. Select your music track and click 'open'. (wav, mp3, aac, amr are supported). When the song is loaded, just select the required part of the track by simply CLICKING AND DRAGGING with mouse ! Then RIGHT-click on the SELECTED portion and select 'SAVE SELECTION AS...'. Select save as type mp3. give a file name and save. Later you may copy it to MUSIC folder in phone.
And if there is no 'edit sounds' in pc studio, click 'Manage multimedia'. (that is version 3.1) Click on MUSIC tab. Then click on the GET FILES....from PC. When the song is loaded, RIGHT-CLICK and select EDIT AND FIX. Then you can proceed as described above. In this version you can convert wma files also to mp3 other than wav/aac/amr.
Also you can select a desired part of the track and give effects such as fade in, fade out, echo....

Ok. Now try this. Close that connection wizard. WITHOUT REMOVING THE PHONE FROM PC,and KEEPING THE CD IN THE DRIVE, restart the pc. On start up, it will detect the new hardware(Samsung mobile usb modem)and will add hardware for that. If the 'Add new hardware window ' appears, select 'no,not this time...' and proceed. Finally you will see a message 'new hardware is installed and ready for use'. Then REMOVE THE PHONE FROM PC. Start Pc Studio again. Select 'usb connection', press 'next' and then CONNECT PHONE again......
If this doesn't work,try connecting to a different usb port. Avoid extension cables.
Still fails, then a litle more info may be needed:
1. Are you using vista? (won't work)
2. Is your data cable genuine/came with the pack? (unbranded things are difficult to work with samsung)
3. Did you run the updates after installation? (you should have..)
4. What is the source of PC Studio for you? Original cd? if you have downloaded it, please paste the complete file name here.
5.Connect phone and pc. In pc, go to control pannel/phone and modem.../click 'Modems' tab and see whether SAMSUNG MOBILE USB MODEM is there in the list?

You should have connected the phone and pc with cable only AFTER selecting 'usb connection' and PRESSING 'NEXT'
Now you uninstall PC Studio and re-install, WITHOUT CONNECTING USB CABLE TO COMPUTER. (Just insert the cd again and select 'remove'. When uninstall is complete, insert cd again to install. Or if you have no cd, run the set up file again; it will uninstall the program. Then run it once again; it will install)
After installation, the connection window appears. Select 'USB connection'. Press 'Next'. THEN ONLY CONNECT the cable to pc. See whether 'sgh-d900' appears....

ive uploaded all the information for my d900 usb cable thing to do what i need to do, so i''ve now double clicked on the samsung pc studio 3.. and this message comes up...

i got my D900 yesterday...this phone is really great! it has 3.15MP cam, different photo shot..mosiac, flash,effects etc..w/ microsoft office viewer(like pda)..3d surround sound speaker..inshort i love this phone most specially its style, and being slim slide-up phone is really fashionable..it really fits me..

I recently bought a D900 and im having problems with it. I fully charged the phone and the battery dies after 2 days of low use. The total amount of talk time was about an hour. I noticed that the third bar for the battery at the top stayed for a while but after it went down to the second bar, it was saying low battery within an hour of no usage. I have tried two batteries and the same result. Also I haven't used any processes that would drain the battery like the mp3 or video but I do use the daily alam everday.

Hi i just wanna know if anyone could send mms thru samsung PC studio v3.1, mine just doesnt work, everytime it crashes n window error pops up when i click on the 'send' button...slightly annoyed

Thanks for your kind comments Raj. But to remove a stable opera 3.1 and install version 4 beta? I don't think so. Raj, am not serious with opera 4. Not with all its flaws and problems as outlined by you in a previous post. I just tried it to see if i can install via wap.
Yes, i can download images, video, music, etc from any wapsite with my browser. The problem is applications. It always ends up with error message just when i thought installation was about complete. My Java memory is 2168/4096kb meaning i still have 1928kb free. I brows freely and the browser doesn't seem to have any problem in that direction.
My version is D900DXGA2. Does anyone with this version have any such problem also?

Still problems? Wap problems are linked with networks also, that's why they can't be helped much. But your opera mini is working, that means wap settings are correct. Are you able to download ANYTHING - image, video etc from any wapsite through the phone's browser?
However for installing operamini 4 beta, I have 2 suggestions;
1. It requires some FREE MEMORY in the java world. So delete some applications(temporarily) to free, memory. Then try installing opera mini again.
2.Even though the beta version doesn't overwrite version 3.1, it may work if you DELETE THE EXISTING VERSION and try to install beta version again. (You can install ver 3.1 later through usb)

It appears to me that D900XEFK2 ADDED ON 2007-01-29 is the latest one....
However flashing will void the WARRANTY of your phone and may change its IMEI number. Proceed only if you have a strong reason for that. Flashing may have side effects also, like some other features may be lost. See these pages;

Thanks for your reassuring words. We sure will keep you busy with our little problems.
Talking of problems, I've still not been able to install any apps on my phone direct via wap download, even the opera 4 beta could not install by this method. Any reason why this is so?
